I used a can of blaster to get the one off my old 185, but WD-40 or the like shoud do just fine. Let it soak for a while and give it some light tapping. Just be patient. I think mine would have stayed on without that bolt..
Tried that and wont budge at all. guy at john deere said good luck when i picked up new steering wheel. thinking about torching the shaft and trying that?
Neighbor just gave me an Idea, I went out and got my tie rod fork and it fits under the wheel, I suppose if one would hit it with a hammer,it may help drive it off the shaft. Really I dont know why it would need that bolt. Cripes!! Every wheel Ive had to remove has been that way. At least the Deere ones. Maybe the Govt made em use some kind of invisible, undetectable glue??
