Hello,

Due to hurricane Sandy I lost my Craftsman lawn mower after 12 years of use. So now I need to buy another one. I was shocked to read about all the problems from the reviews on the latest Craftsman lawn motors. It seems they had alot of engine problems. I am looking into buying a Honda mower which has good feedback. I never brought a honda due to the higher price. I would buy the craftsman mower, but am confused on how good they are now.

The 2 lawn mowers I am looking at are the:

Craftsman 190cc "push mower" model #37037 price at $238
Honda "Rear Self Prop" 160cc Model# HRR216K9VKA price at $399

Honda is offering a 1 year extended plan on the basic 3 years warranty, sears is only offering 2 years basic.

I'm curious what people that use the latest model craftsman or Honda mowers think? Any input would be helpful, thanks.

Well in my opinion, I always try to buy American made when possible. So I would have to go with the Craftsman with the Briggs engine. But both should be fine mowers for just residential homeowner use.

All Honda mowers (including the engines) have been built in Swepsonville, NC, since 1983.

I know that, but it is still a foreign owned company. I have no problem with Honda, just stating my opinions.

Personally I would go with a Honda. I love both of mine and you can't beat a Honda engine!
