My machine has the select drive paddles, I think, one for mowing and one for speed. I do have to engage the yellow button for it to propel. It started working again today, but only lasted about 10 minutes and I didn't adjust anything.

Carol,if adjusting the cables don't help the problem,you need to disassemble rear drive wheels and clean the ratchets and inspect the ratchet springs along with the rest of the drive parts for wear.such as thickness of washers,pinion gear wear and thickness of inner and outer snap rings.hope this helpsThe machine works fine, then the self-propel stops. Do not know what is going on!! Why does it do this???
