I have a Hionda HRX217 with the smart drive. I wanted to totally service this 6 year old machine and so i drained the transmission oil. I think i wasn't supposed to but i did and now i need to refill it..
The question is what type oil do i replace it with. HELP!!!
We don't get the hydro down here or at least I have never seen one only the 2 sp & 3 Sp manual boxes.
However from lurking on a dozen mower forums it appear that the boxes on those mower is very sensitive to the oil used and the recommendations seem very much to favour using genuine Honda tranny oil available from mower shops.
