I just recently purchased a Honda self propelled mower Model-HRX217HXA and after purchasing it i had to buy a new carb and all the gaskets for it... It runs great now, but it is leaking gas but only when I am mowing sideways on a hill with the carb facing downward. IF i am level on ground it does not leak at all the gas is coming out of a small hole in the carb I Hope that photo of the carb appears here so you can see where I mean I have never ran into this issue before so I do not know how to fix the problem .. the black arrow in the photo shows where the leak is coming from...any help would sure be appreciated... Thank you
ok thank you very much, I was also told that the small hole was a vent hole and if gas was coming out of that hole it was cause I had it at a silly angle.... I know it does not come out at all if i am on flat ground mowing but if i get on a hill to where the carb is facing toward the ground then gas comes out of that vent hole.... I will check into the other carb you mentioned... Thank you
No in normal operation no fuel should come out of the vent hole,
When you tip the mower on way the float valve shuts the fuel off too early and when you tip it the other was some times the float valve can not shut off the fuel supply at all.
Two strokes and engines with diaphragm carbs ar designed to be used on big slopes.
