Honda HRR2166VKA - Transmission Pulley Question

Hello,

I'm new to this forum, I have a Honda push mower HRR2166VKA (K6) purchased a few years back from Home Depot. This spring I figured out that I have the "mower won't roll backwards" issue. I tore down the area of the transmission/rear wheels/axle and replaced some bushings, etc... I'm pretty confident that I have addressed the "won't-roll-backward" issue. However, in reassembling everything, I noticed that the transmission pulley was touching the rear wall of the mower deck. I assumed I did something wrong so I tried a few things. I can go into more detail on what I tried if requested but long story short, I simply cannot figure out why the pulley rubs the back wall of the deck.

I am attaching some photos. I have not started the mower since the teardown but from what I see, it appears that the pulley has been rubbing the back wall for at least some time. I also see some slight wear on the side of the pulley closest to the transmission. I've never noticed any strange sounds that might indicate the rubbing. Any ideas? Is it possible that the belt has stretched and that is the issue? Please let me know any questions and I'll be happy to post more photos. Thanks!

You may find transmission pulley not contacting deck after replacing rear wheel bushings, etc. Let us know how it goes, thanks Mark

Thanks Mark, yes with my teardown I replaced both adjuster arms and each one came with new seals and bushings. When I got everything back together thats when I noticed the pulley contacting. The axle felt and looked like it was in the correct position when I finished the other day but I will take another close look at that to make sure.

Also want to mention, there are four holes in the deck on each side for each adjuster panel. If you number them front to back 1-4, I have each panel is bolted to the 2 and 4 holes (closest to rear of mower). I briefly tried holes 1 and 3 for the panels but the tensioner spring's pull made the transmission sit at an angle I think cannot be correct. So I am using 2 and 4.

I needed to use it this past Sunday so I put it back together. The pulley still touches but I don't hear anything odd when it runs and it works fine. I have a new belt on order but its not here yet. I just found out my dad has a K6 VKA also from Home Depot and its only a few serial numbers older than mine so next time I'm over there I'll have something to compare to.
