Honda HRR 216 engine brake fix

Other than having to replace whole engine brake assembly, which is very expensive, does anyone know how just the pad could be replaced ?
 
When people stop posting multiple threads I will try to help; otherwise, I quit trying to keep up with all the different replies in each thread on the same problem.

the HR216 was produced for about 15 - 20 years. Probably going to need a full model number and serial number to answer the question. Thank you for deleting the duplicates.

Looking a a picture of a sample of one of the several different brake pads used, it would take special adhesives to replace the pad, like certain places used to replace brake friction lining. The image shows the pads are bonded with some form of adhesive or epoxy and not fasteners. Below is a photo from the Internet of just one of the part numbers. The top one is supposed to be the original discontinued part, and the bottom one from the online discount A store. No shop is going to spend the time cleaning up an old shoe, then gluing new friction material on it with the cost of labor as high as it is, and the risk of failure of the adhesive. It is less expensive to just use a new one IMHO.
