Hi , I have a Honda hrb476c all is well accept that sometimes not always while cutting the revs change notable so and it stops cutting but still drives on , if I lift the mower slightly the revs return and it continues to cut, this can happen at any point when I'm cutting, I'm hopping some one can explain what is napping and what is the cure, Thanks in advance.

Usually that is because you are making too large a cut and the blades / discharge chute is choking.

Hi thanks for the reply, I didn't have the grass catcher on at the time , the chute was clear, the grass was not overly long and I had the deck raised to the mid height, it had been cutting fine for the previous 5 minutes, why would the symptoms I described slow the revs down and stop the cutting, it's as if it had gone into idle mode ?

I think you need to adjust or replace blade belt.
