Good morning friends -

I have a Honda Harmony 215 mower that ran perfectly until the oil pan gasket started leaking. So I disassembled the engine and replaced the gasket. Now the engin starts, but will only run for a few seconds very slowly. After poking around, it seems like the arm for the governor is frozen in place. I took the oil pan off again, and the arm moves freely, but when I put the oil pan back on the arm is frozen again. There must be a trick or some alignment to the governor arm inside the case that I'm not aware of. Any info or advice would be gladly received.

Mower info:
HRM215E3
Model SXA
Engine name GXV140
Engine type MA1
Engine serial GJAB-6630077
Frame serial M2BB-6148889

Thanks in advance!

Have a look at these two pages from the shop manual (.pdf file); should help you confirm everything is going back together correctly.

You want to make sure the flat spot (yellow area) on the #19 governor shaft is in contact with the tip of the #18 governor slider (purple area).

Yes! Thank you - that was exactly it. Once I had that correctly set up the case went back together smoothly and the mower started on the first crank.

Thanks for taking the time to post those images with highlights - made my job much easier.
