Got an old HR215 5.0 masters that I can't seem to get timed up. Freshly cleaned carb, new gas, new filter, new ignition coil and plug.
Symptoms:
Choke plate not closing all the way when throttle lever set to choke (starts easily if I force the choke closed.)
When set to fast (rabbit), engine revs up waaaaay beyond normal idle (fiddled with the governor and can't get this fixed, unless i just push the governor arm with my finger while the mower is running)
When set to slow (turtle) engine dies, even the tiniest adjustment toward fast will return to over-revving, but when the throttle "clicks" into the slow position, it immediately dies (it's almost like I'm backing it all the way into the engine-stop positition).
Maybe it's all cable and spring stretch, but it was just tuned and running great a few weeks ago, so that would be awfully sudden... I feel like I've set the governor and adjustment screws every which combination of ways, so I'm all ears for new ideas! Thanks in advance.
