why does half the transmission pulley spin on bearings while the hub part is fixed.
my repair guy has never seen this before. it is not broken since the new one is exactly the same.
I'm not sure about the age but it is pre 2000.
the new pulley was $150 ..ouch
i thought is was to let the belt slip to protect the transmission if there was too much load
Pulley rotates a engine speed and wiithout expensive lubrication would eat a hole in the housing very quickly
Axles turn very slowly so can get enough lubing from the box to prevent metal to metal contact.
