Hi everyone.. I just went solo and bought from my old boss the equipment I've used for the last 2-3 yrs. Long story short.. Honda gc690 GCAPH TXA2
Ser#2023678000000
the engine starts and runs but the power is not good...I was at the power wash store (not for the power problem) when one of the guys there says sounds like you're on 1 cylinder you need an ignition coil but replace both..ok fine I go on line and see knock offs galore... I'm trying to learn I've been doing the maintenance on this machine but not buying parts. what's a decent brand of ignition coil and /or online parts store.. the guys at the Honda shop couldn't even find the part # 30500-Z6L-043. Help please?

Before throwing new ignition coils at it, test for spark. Another way to do this is spray water on each muffler pipe coming out of engine. Aftermarket ignition coils are a bit of a gamble and not recommended for longevity, especially since you depend on equipment for your living. Parts are expensive, but not as much as downtime lost when customers depend on you.

The OP needs to double check his info. There is no GC690 (Most likely a typo)

The GCAPH model code comes back as a GX690RH and the serial and type code indicates 30500-ZCN-003 Ignition coils.

Need to be careful because according to the Honda parts dealer site. the GX690RH uses the 30500-Z6L-043 and the GX690RHX uses the 30500-ZCN-003 When searching with the GCAPH-2023678 serial number

The site I used is

But as you see from the screen shot it says it is the GX690RH and not the GX690RHX. The GX690RHX don't even list the TXA2 type code.

If you got a different site then let me know what it is as I would use it but I am not a dealer for Honda; just an independent shop.

The in.honda.com dealer 2 step authentication site list the TXA2 for both models when I input the GCAPH-2023678 into the search bar. Now that is the only place I have found the part number variation. So the number the OP listed could of came from that site.

@ like I said the in.honda site which is the official dealer, parts lookup, file warranty claim, and download service manual site is the only place I have found the part number variation for the GX690 with the TXA2 GCAPH for serial number +2000001

Thank you all for your responses. With some additional research I think
30500-ZCN--003 will be the correct part b/c only gx690RHX has the correct TXA2 and the correct 2000000 serial range. Honda has agreed to look into it & call the dealer tomorrow. But I am not ready to order parts yet! @tiger sm engine you are definitely right...I have to troubleshoot it first . I'm sure to be pestering y'all with questions please bear with me and once again Thanks!
