I have a 2-3 year old honda GCV 160. Runs fine, never really had a problem with it. Today went to mow some leaves off the lawn and the throttle will only go halfway and stop, used some pressure and will not go anymore. I reached down and was able to manually move the throttle to full, but it springs right back to half.
Before I replace the throttle cable, is it possibly something else?
:welcome:
It would be handy if we knew what mower the CX160 is attached to .
Now if it is a Honda self propelled, it will be the cable.
The cable dips down with the others behind the cover then comes back up to the carb.
The dip fills with waster and the inner rust on to the outer.
Very common problem on domestics.
