Honda 4518 with CD4542 Mower Deck - spindles

The spindles on my CD4542 Honda mower deck have gone bad. I have the new bearings but the old spindles are not coming apart. I even took them to a Honda dealer without success.
Has anyone found a spindle that can be used as a replacement?

They come apart from the bottom as I recall and you may need a big press. Never found one that would not come apart.
