I looked out my back window and saw a big fat ground hog wandering in the (now needs to be mowed) grass in the back yard.

We have a lot of animals (deer, racoons, an occasional skunk once a year, mice and bunnies and birds definitely) that randomly walk through our back yard, but I cannot remember seeing a groundhog--especially not one as fat and relaxed as this one. Is it normal? Can they do damage to a (very relaxedly kept) lawn, or should I just consider it another addition to my semi zoo?

If you have a shed you can bet he will be tunneling underneath it.

LOL I immediately thought about Caddy Shack also. We don't have too many problems with them but maybe we've been lucky. I hope you don't find yourself falling into the holes!

Here I was hoping it was a spirit sign or something. Well....maybe it won't be too noticeable with the state of the yard anyway. Or...maybe it wasn't the previous digging but the woodchuck that has the yard all pocked...
