Hi... new to forum. cub cadet 1282 dies.

I have a IH cub cadet 1282 since new. the problem I'm having is when I engage electric PTO, the tractor spits and sputters, then dies. Disengage PTO, she starts and runs great. Is it possible to rebuild the electric clutch? or should I start shopping on eBay.

Personally what I would do would be just get a new mower, since the mower you have is pretty old. But if you really like that mower, you could rebuild it. I am a new-mower kind of guy, but a lot of people like old mowers, and if you do, I would keep it and try to fix it.

after years of loyalty this 1282 gave me, I did buy a Bran new Craftsman PGT-9000. I love the new tractor. But now I'm restoring my 1282.
