The big problem is batteries which is the reason there were only a couple of companies who did EV's from WW II the reincarnation of PT Barnum formed Tesla.
All they are good for is virtue signaling and just like E-mowers, there is a convenience factor to them for certain people in certain circumstances but basically they are a joke that makes pollution far worse than sticking with ICE
OTOH the trend or monster engines needs to be curtailed you really do not need a 10 litre engine to drop the kids off to daycare
I have been driving an 1800cc & a 2400cc van for 40 years and it is quite happy at the legal speed limit
Outside of the USA where Musk offers insurance on Teslas in most states, EV's are now uninsurable
The Luton carpark fire cost is now up to £ 120,000,000 and still climbing so EV's are pulling £ 4,000 to £ 6,000 for annual insurance
Now apart from the Rolls Royce hire cars, I have never paid the equivalent of £ 4,000 for a vehicle , let alone insurance .
EV sales have tanked and every manufacturere is pulling back on production and according to one YT channel some models have better than 2 years worth of sales sitting in cary yards because the dealers can not shift them .

You hit on a very serious topic. Most people driving large pickups and SUV have obsolutely no use for them other than the wow factor. Most people that own pickups don't ever haul or tow anything period. So that is the reason that pickup trucks have become the new cars. They have become this large four door, short/no bed with all the creature comforts that never tow or haul even a bag of groceries from the store, because they will have those delivered. So it has really messed up what a truck is supposed to be. you can purchase a good used Freightliner cheaper than you can buy a pickup truck. And I understand that a large portion of the cost of US vehicles is due to the federally mandated safety equipment

Tire pressure monitors because people can't check their tire pressure but have no clue what the light on the dash means.
Backup cameras because people can't use their mirrors to backup and people don't pay attention to vehicles so they will walk into a blind spot and get run over.
Anti-lock brakes because people can't control their brakes on slick conditions and are fine in ideal conditions but in ice, loose rock, whatever no traction conditions they will say I am slipping and then release the brakes without your consent and procede to dump you into the middle of an intersection.

Humans in general are no longer getting smarter because just keep believing all the cons jobs out there and are being dumbed down by society. So glad I made it to retirement where I don't have deal with all lairs if I don't want to.

Yes I still demand a full size pickup bed as I actually use it.

As anti lock brakes they are only good on dry pavement with good tires. Many around here are running on slicks and thinking the anti locks are going to save them.

I know of some that have big pickups, that say they feel much safer in them than small cars. I wouldn't disagree with that.
I'm still rolling in my old Chevy Panel Tk. It works for me..

Well it depends upon the type of collision as those 20' tall SUV's & pick ups are very prone to roll over because of the high COG .
On top of that because most are considered trucks they do not need to meet the same safety standards for things like crumple zones as saloon cars doo when T boned, most end up on their sides even if hit by a small saloon.
I drive cab over vans so the view from being higher does make it easier to avoid problems but most Yank Tanks have long bonnets (cause there is a v 10 or V 12 in there ) so that means there is a 50' blind spot in front of the vehicle .

Tesla's have a battery warmer built into the charging circuit. But you have to set the car to heat up the batteries. It's not automatic.

The news broadcasts and social media post about all these "dead robots" are from people who never read their EV's manual.

A friend has a nissan leaf. She says when it gets really cold out, like now, it charges about 1/3 as fast as normal.

I guess it is time to go out and fire up my average V12 5 ton tank truck that I can't see out in front of and go run down some unsuspecting pedestrians while burning a gallon of gas every mile.

"One reason the company gave was that drivers kept crashing the cars.

Hertz CEO Stephen Scherr noted that the costs of repairs of an electric vehicle are also much higher."

Don't know about that. They have 2 chargers. The 220v fast charger at the house and the 110v "mobile" one built into the car that charges very slow anyway. I do know that the heat pump heater/AC unit went out a few years ago and it was around $4000 to fix it. It is a 2015 and the battery only has about 2/3 if the original capacity

In Oz 1 of the 4 companies poviding fast pubic chargers has gone bankrupt
another tha just jacked up their price so it is around the same as an Aust ICE engined car, not a yank urban assault vehicle
And another is exiting Aust all together going back to the USA
The last is part government owned and believe it or not makes fast chargers tacked onto the end of a diesel generator .
Sounds silly but much of inland Aust is not on the national grid so they are using these to work out where a grid connection will be needed as getting grid power to all of the popular tourist spots will cost 50 times the states GDP
There is one in Gundagai at the Dog on the Tucker Box truck stop and the local tow truck operator now has a week end drivers to tow all of those fools who believed the BS that they will get 400 km on a charge so can do the 375 km no troubles
The Big Merino at Goulburrn was looking at installing fast chargers but it was going to cost around $ 500,000 to get enough power to run a 10 bay charging station.
I think they have a 2 bay there at the moment but supply restrictions means it takes over 1/2 hour to charge and that is 195 km from Sydney
They did a survey of times for a Sydney <=> Melbourne trip by EV ( 900km) and it works out I do it faster in my 40 year old lPG powered L300 van than just about every Ev on the market in OZ at the moment and that assumes you are the only car at the charger so you get the benefit of the full fast rate .
I get 350 km on a tank but because unreliable supply I always refill at around 200km
If all of the bays are being used at Gundagai then some will take better than 3 hours to charge just enough to get ( 180 km) to Albury, the next nearest E-charge .
Or you have to turn off the expressway and go to all of the towns and recharge there which adds another 200km to the trip .
John sums it up beautifully on this post

What I have been reading lately on battery vehicles regarding accidents is that because of potential liability safety issues with lithium batteries, once the battery encasement has been compromised to a certain extent, the vehicle is “totaled out”. Apparently the vehicle is often fine, but nobody will touch it because of potential fire, insurance, personal liability, etc.

If it takes 3 days to charge that particular vehicle to go 84 kilometers (in the above article), then you might as well get on your bicycle and start pedaling. That is anything but practical or reasonable in day to day activities.

Battery powered vehicles are literally sitting on dealer sales lots because they cannot sell them. Demand simply isn’t there.

This will all become clearer in the next couple of years. I have been reading articles about battery vehicles pros and cons for a few years now. For the record, I am an internal combustion engine guy, and always will be.

The EV sales pitch of saving money by not using petrol, lower maintenance cost due to fewer parts, zero emissions will save the planet…..all appeal to the emotional side of us humans.

The Covid vaccination pitch took the same approach. Appeal to the emotions without any real basis in fact.

Both are complete failures and fingers crossed, people will get wise to these baseless pitches. Seems to be the case with EV sales trends and vax boost rates.

We tried to tax EV's to compensate for the lack of fuel excise but it got overturned in the high ( your Supreme ) court .
It all goes back to one E Musk , the reincarnation of P T Barnham who pretended to be on a save the planet crusade when like most excessively wealthy he was only in t for the money honey .
Then he tapped into the conspiracy theory nutters and for some reason the bulk of the population will swallow a conspiracy theory hook , line, sinker, rod , reel & boat .
Where a few seconds of actual though would have revealed the truth.
The only conspiracy between auto makers & the fuel engine is the continued "upgrading" of models by fitted a bigger engine, which is also done by mower companies .
Just about every auto maker had spent a small fortune on R & D into EV's and rejected the models , for good reason.
And like I have said from the start, if Musk really wanted to combat air pollution then his first model would have been a taxi cab, followed by a 1 ton delivery van then a 2 ton delivery van rather than a 200 mph penis extension .
When we were trying to clean up Sydneys air there was a subsidy for converting taxis to LPG and within 2 years almost the entire 7,000 cabs were running on LPG
Then there was a business subsidy to convert new van to LPG and again 2/3 of the 16,000 1 ton delivery vans were LPG powered because business owners can do maths. The fact that there has been no interest in E-vans speaks buckets about the truth of the Electric Messiah's promises .
Give him his due respect, the new Tesla motors are excellent & a work of pure engineering porn so if a reliable battery ev emerges then the drive train is there ready to go
However I can not see any business buying anE_V with a Lithium battery after the Luton air port fire as the total physical damage bill is now over £ 200,000,000 and still rising as the airlines are yet to make claims .
Now all insurance policies have a claim payment limit ( read your fine print ) and none of them extend to £ 200,000,000 ( or the US $ equivalent ) so that leaves the vehicle owner holding the bag .
Now imagine if that happened t a Fed-ex van under a multistory building which due to the damage the extreme heat generated had to be demolished in say New York ?

Yes that was a problem in the early days for the auto industry but the thing about it was you could carry cans of fuel with you. Trouble with EVs is you can't carry spare batteries with you. There aren't enough charging stations around and the infra structrue is not able to support the addition of charge stations to support the EV industry. Another problem is it takes too long to charge the batteries. That tied to the range of some of the EVs. I drive a Geo Metro that gets in the 40s. Was at Walmart one day and a family pulled in next to me and guy ask what kind of milage I got. I told him his wife poped in and said we don't get gas milage we have an EV. I ask what the range on it was he said about 150 miles and how long it took to charge it. He said 8 hours. It was a Nissan Leaf. I ask him how long it would take him to get to California. Hope he would not be in a hurry to get there. LOL

Agreed, but don't force folks into them.. Like the mandated shots. See how well that went.

That's the thing though. EV's aren't really being forced on anyone. And for 99.9999% of the country, we weren't forced to take the Trump shot. Biden isn't at war with the oil companies. And now that inflation is coming down, the higher prices we're paying we're paying isn't all from inflation. A lot of it is, but not all.
Companies know that consumers are used to paying higher prices. So they'll just let them pay the higher prices.

It's like charging more for your labor rate during the winter, because there's not as much work coming in. When spring hits, and you realize that no one complained about the $10hr increase, so you keep it at the new level.

There's so much misinformation out there, about so many things. Political scams, product scams, services scams. There's a scammer born every minute.
I remember when the conspiracy theorist were saying that the Trump shot was going to gives us all vaids. LOL..

As far as EV's go, within a few years, I'm hoping they'll be running with sodium ion batteries and that they'll be located in a place where they can be easily removed and replaced by a fully charged pack. Something like a 5 minute swap.
What they have now, only fits a certain % of people. Those who only drive maybe 200 miles per day (at most). They just go to work and back. And for those people, it's great. Especially when the price of gas is $4 per gallon.

Not many could afford gas powered cars when they first came out. Heck, before that, a lot of folks couldn't afford horses.

There's car companies who are trying to find ways of bringing the costs down. But with the way the economy is, and this enormous labor costs, it's going to be a while.

And personally, I don't believe the costs will ever come down. It'll be wages increasing to match inflation. At this point, prices never come down. We just learn to adjust. The scary thing about the low end EV's, is that because of production costs, they have to skimp out on quality to reduce costs.
You know, like a the 1980 Chevy Citation. lol Or just about any of the cars that were being built when Americans started getting away from the Barnaby Jones-mobile's.

At what rate? Tn pays 27.4 cents per gallon
Energy
T.C.A. § 67-6-206(b)(1) also provides that a “tax at the rate of one and one-half percent (1.5%) shall be imposed with respect to gas, electricity, fuel oil, coal, and other energy fuels when sold or used by manufacturers.” T.C.A. § 67-6-704 exempts all energy sales from the local sales tax. This state-only sales tax is in lieu of the combined state and local sales tax levied on other taxable sales (seven percent (7%) state rate plus your local rate).
So on top of the sales tax that we all pay and we with gas powered vehicles we are paying 27.4 cents a gallon as well. That goes for the up keep of the roads they still are not paying their fair share.

And it goes for anything and everything else they want to pay for. But that's kind of the point. States and the federal government tax everything under the sun. And now with solar panels connected to the grid, they're sort of taxing the sun too. None the less, they're taxing way too much for what little we're getting.
I say the state & federal government should simply stop wasting our money on things that don't pertain to most of us. Then see what the tax rates for everything should be. Taxing EV's more is only going to give them more money to blow. It might make those who are opposed to EV's feel better that EV owners have to pay more. But it's not going to reduce our gas tax one penny.

As an engineerI love the concept of EV's
But as a human I hate the misuse of valuable resources and a LI battery big enough t power a vehicle of store off grid energy is just that, misuse of finite world resources.
When a reliable battery that is safe & reasonably priced is found then EV's will make sense but right now they do not.
MY other problem is selling some thing to the ignorant with total BS like Musk has done with Tesla forcing all the others to follow him down the road of electric euphoria , which unfortunately leads directly to hell .
So if you live in the city, drive less than 20 miles a day, have open air parking or a detatched car port then an EV makes sense
However the 3,000 people who had their cars destroyed in the Luton airport car park might just think a bit different to that .

I think they're promising. According to what I've heard, they last longer, do better in cold weather and not apt to catch on fire like Lithium. The expensive metals found in LI batteries is not needed in the SI batteries. Just common metals.

SI do make a lot of sense. And they kill two birds with one stone.

One of the reasons why there's so few desalinization plants along our coast is the brine that released back into the oceans. Where it's piped back into the oceans, makes it too salty for marine life. This brine can be used in SI batteries. In fact it would reduce the cost of getting the salt out of the water if much of the water is already extracted.

I don't see Biden going against SI batteries. Unless it's only to take up for the oil companies. Despite popular belief, Biden has been very good to the oil companies. Record high profits so far under him. And now, record high oil/gas production.

I think the Musk/Ford thing is fake news.

Removing all fossel fuels will take decades because we have become so reliant upon them .
To date not a single large agricultural equipment maker has any plans to change from diesel engines
On a open mike radio show a while back one cocky mentioned that to use a battery powered combine he would have to be dragging 25 ton of battery behind and that would take 2 days to charge and only last 12 hours, so he would need 3 of them as a tow behind power source .
Harvest takes 220 hours non stop on his property in a good year
As I have said before CO2 is a tiny part but for some strange reason it is the only thing people are talking about
Roof top solar to a local or community battery is a game changer but highly unlikely to happen because of legal & financial problems about the land it sits on and every one buying back up batteries will be too expensive for individual households .
A flow cell battery ( the only one that stacks up environmentally & economically ) big enough for 10 Aust houses overnight is around the size of a 20' shipping container
Currently the best solution has been to put it in 2 peoples back yard evenly agains the fence line of the next 2 connected households then run a driveway to it through the other * peoples back yards ( sort of reinventing the old dunny cart lanes ) but that requires redrawing the registering the property boundaries which costs a mint to do .

Obviously, Biden was lying. My point was that so many on the left and right believed him. But that's the USA for you. Trump has lied more than any president I've seen in my entire life. And he's got folks who believe everything he says. They claim he was sent here by god himself to lead this country.

Personally, I think lying should be an impeachable offense. That any politician getting caught lying should either be barred from campaigning, or thrown out of office.

One of my favorite quotes is from "Chernobyl." The series.

"What is the cost of lies? It's not that we'll mistake them for the truth. The real danger is that if we hear enough lies, then we no longer recognize the truth at all. What can we do then? What else is left but to abandon even the hope of truth and content ourselves instead with stories? In these stories, it doesn't matter who the heroes are. All we want to know is: "Who is to blame?"

I'm good with gas/oil. And pretty much any other source. I understand the need to move away from oil for a lot of things. Like EV's for those who use it as it's supposed to be used. Daily commute's within the distance perimeters. Having solar panels to charge batteries at home to power one's house and even charge their EV's when they get home.

It's just electricity. I don't care what makes the lights, A/C and heater come on. Just as long as it comes on and is cheap to operate.

If someone ever came up with an idea that created free energy, and was cheap to manufacture and install, they'd probably sell the idea to an energy company for a few million $$$, and it (the idea) would never see the light of day again.

I'm not so sure about that. Because the vast oceans that make up 75% of the earths surface, produces no heat. Then you have winters on both sides of the globe that cools things off.

It's going to take a hundreds of thousands of years to see any major man made affects to our climate. The EPA and other agencies have pushed regulations in place that squelch a lot of the heat created by man. If we were still running the same standards as we were in the 50's and 60's, I buy what you're saying.

As far as the C02 goes, we simply need a big supply of plants and trees.

They've been cutting it down since Texas started putting it up.

I'm siding with Abbott on this issue. It's gotten way out of hand. But the US government supersedes the states border policies. Apparently Two of the conservative judges, including one Trump judge thinks so.
And considering that those coming here, by constitutional definition of "invasion," aren't invaders. They're seeking refugee status. If it was the Mexican government and their military, that would be a different story.
I get it, there's too many here. And they need to wait in line. And they're getting too many handouts.

But honestly, the way Americans have become lazy, Especially genz, someone's gotta do those jobs. Mexicans and south Americans are some of the hardest working people I've met. They don't cry because someone hurt their feelings or misgendered them. They don't sue over minor issue. Heck, my mail lady won't even bring a package up to the door when the neighbors dog is in my yard. And he's one of the most friendliest dogs.

If I was living poor in Mexico or South America, or anywhere really, I'd do what I had to do to come to the US. Even if coming illegally was my only option.
Applying for a visa in Mexico costs about $500. If you don't have a credit record or own property, regardless of how decent you are, you're denied. And you lose the $500.
I knew a man who went through that 3 times. You know how hard it is to raise $500 in Mexico, when the going rate for labor is like $15 per DAY? (and still care for your family)

So a decade ago, he hopped and skipped across the Rio with some friends. And now, he's got the best yard services in that town. Has a nice house, nice cars and still supports his family back in Mexico. The man is truly decent. He's now a legal citizens. But there was no possible way he could've done it the legal way.
This is the vast majority of people coming here, who are just trying to better their lives for themselves and their families. Especially for their kids.
I'm in no way siding with the left on this issue. Just bringing up the facts. And keeping an open mind as to why they come here. Which is something the right don't want to address. If they addressed that, then this problem would finally have a solution. But putting up barriers and trying to block them will never work.

As a small engine mechanic, you know there's more than one way to fix most problems.

You got to remember everytime our presidents try to control the border with executive orders and our weak immigration laws they get sued and the courts rule against them. NAd can't build concentration camps due our humanitarian laws. So there is only so much room we have to put people awaiting processing.

And all those that are bitching about the foreigners really need to take a serious look into their own family histories. There virtually no native people of this country left. Nearly all of us are of foreign descent with quite a few coming here illegally to start with.

Although I have some Cherokee descent in my bloodline a good portion of it is from European descent. Either way I did not add to the current population other than myself.

I would think even the Great DJT has a lot foreign blood in his family history that he is so trying so hard to ignore. And I would put past it that some his distant relatives came here illegally too.

Just think the Europeans came here and just took over while slaughtering the American Indians and stealing their lands.

So what skeletons are hidden in all of our closets.

Here is a little post , no BS , no political bias , just plain facts about the "border crisis " and if you are too lazy or closed minded to watch the video here is the crux.
Border crossing is directly proportional to unemployment , the share market , investor confidence & inflation
It has nothing, nadda, diddly squat to do with the colour of the undies the bum behind the big desk in the oval office is wearing.
This will of course offend may as it goes directly against their religion but that is the simple truth and truth always hurts .
Jakes video is not the best, but I could not find the one I was looking for.
And Jake is like me a swinging voter so has no political alliances and funny enough neither does the number of people crossing the border
So watch and get the truth without the political spin form both sides . Both these men as US war veterans . View in YT or you will not be able to read the charts.
And another one from a person who faced a real invasion and worked in border force to put a different slant on things

Very good Bert. Now maybe some the hard heads might think twice about this issue. I kinda doubt it but if they at least watched the whole video it will be in the back of their minds.

And I do agree the employers of illegal should face mandatory jail time. But as the first video puts it no one in the deep state wants this problem to be fixed. Just to much money involved.

I feel the same way about employers that work US citizens under the table per say just to keep from their fair share of the taxes. I got one company right near me that is doing this. The workers thinks it is great but just wait until they need to start drawing their SS and find out how much it has hurt them financially.

And the second video just proves that the Texas mess is just a major political stunt to distract from the real problem. They are just interfering with the US Federal enforcement of the border. They are just playing to the extremist views for votes. Really all they are doing is making the mess worst.

And yes he is right, when we brought in fines for employers the ruling party had an absolute majority in both houses but in the next election they ended up as a minority government and then we cycled to the other side , also as minority government in the 2nd election and although they has vowed to repeal the law, the hysteria whipped up about 60,000 boat refugees was so big they had no chance and 12 years latter business has gotten used to it as we brought in the "Guest Worker" scheme and that wnt down well with the small Pacific Island nations so everything remained .

Guest workers scheme is a bit different as the workers have to come through a labour hire company .
If 100% of them do not return then the labour hire company looses it's license to supply guest workers and I think there is also a bond
And any worker who stays on once deported can never return and they get a big tax refund when going back
Contracts are short, usually for 3 to 6 month duration as they are mostly fruit & veg pickers .

Well if it was that easy then why did Trump have to use Title 42 to try to stop the immigrates? I think we all need to look to the actual laws that limits POTUS ability to do anything. Even the physical barrier didn't stop them, just slowed then down.

It look like the Republicans are just wanting us to setup machine gun nests along the border and kill anything that moves which violation of international humanitarian laws. Just look how Russia is doing by sending guys against the enemy just to get kill and then the next waves walk over the dead ones and so far until they over overload the enemy or decide it is a lost cause.

It not just our country responsibility but also the other countries involved responsibility to help to control the flow. Even Mexico has the same problem as we do.

At least the Senate is trying to do something finally by giving the POTUS actual authorization to close the border but the House wants just use the issue as political football.

Which btw is not a full closure we will still have authorized ports of entry open. But even those may have to be closed at times due overloads.

And here is a link to the US Immigration and Nationality Act for all of us to read but be aware it is not something you can do with a few minutes more like weeks.

Btw it is the Secretary of State that is responsible for the enforcement not the POTUS.

then comes the President, Attorney General, the Secretary of State, the officers of the Department of State, or diplomatic or consular officers: Provided, however, That determination and ruling by the Attorney General with respect to all questions of law shall be controlling.

Well if it was that easy then why did Trump have to use Title 42 to try to stop the immigrates? I think we all need to look to the actual laws that limits POTUS ability to do anything. Even the physical barrier didn't stop them, just slowed then down.

One thing I have learned with this whole Biden adminstration if the Dems are accusing the Republications of doing something they are the ones doing it.

First both republicans and democrats are at fault. Its not just one side or the other. Just remember you get what you voted for.

It like the tariffs DJT placed on the China and EU goods. It is a tax that consumer ultimately pays through higher prices.

And it is like Gardner and RBI charging me 3% convenience fee for to pay by CC. That extra charge just get pass along to the consumer. So what starts out at $100 for me becomes $103. Now consider I mark things up by 35% GPM the initial $100 becomes $153.87 and with the 3% surcharge now that same product is now $158.46. Now of course part of the profit does goes toward the SHC costs too which has the 3% surcharge added. But either way that is nearly a $5 dollar increase for the consumer.

Now what DJT did was to add at least 10% tariff so that same $100 items becomes $110 before the CC surcharge which with it becomes $113.30 cost and the next consumer pays $174.31 all for the same item provided I do the same GPM. Just think what the consumer was to initially pay goes from $153.87 to $174.31 or basically they pay an extra $20.44 for the same item. And just think that is my cost to the consumer. No telling how many middle men has also marked the costs along the way before I even get the product. It just snowballs.

And what worst is the 3% CC surcharge is also charged on SHC fees so the actual profit is less than you think. And that before final yearly taxes on final actual profit.

So now you know I fought so hard to get on ACH payments so both me and my customers pays less overall. Matter of fact it took me 7 months to get Gardner to change me over so they lost 7 months of sales as I refused to pay the surcharge fees.

And top of that we are still paying those DJT tariffs as the Biden has not repealed most them. So it becomes fees upon fees upon fees which just adds to the inflation overall. Tariffs sounds great upfront until you do the math and realized that the consumer is the one that actually pays them. And Government get the initial 10% tariff fee for their own use.

CC = Credit Card
GPM = Gross Profit Margin
SHC = shipping handling charges

And here is a great example of the voter IQ. About 10+ yrs aog a property tax were up renewal with an added property tax being asked to approve. They had a great opportunity to reduce their overall property taxes by 50%. Example is the 10mil tax renewal that we were voting on along with a 5 mil additional tax. They voted to renewal the 10 mil but turn down the extra 5 mil. All they had to do was vote down the 10mil tax and approve the 5mil tax thus cutting their tax by 50%. Now wasn't that smart of them.

Well 10+ yrs later another county in same state had the same situation but those voters had a much higher IQ and they cut their taxes by 2/3. Boy is that county government bitching to high heavens now.

And what worst is that DJT is now saying he wants to increase those tariffs to 25% or higher so go out and vote for DJT and another 15%+ could be taken out of your wallet.

So item that cost before the tariffs would now be $125. + 3% CC = $128.75 and with my 35 GPM becomes $198.08.

But of course that is why he is a billionaire as he get you to pay his bills.

And his trophy wife's bills as well
Apparently his election campaign fund has paid her clothing stylist $ 375,000 & her hair stylise $ 172,000 all from the monthly subscriptions the smucks pay up to the GOP .
No one is 100% bad though.
He continued with the Obama made in America policy paying companies billions to shift manufacture back to the USA
Harley closed down their wheel factory in South Australia & shifted it back to the USA and of course B & S shifted the Vanguard factory to the USA.
The tax on Chinese imports was supposed to stimulate US manufacturing but mostly it shifted production from China to Korea, Taiwan , Ukraine , Vietnam , Cambodia , India etc etc .
The only big ticket items made in the USA are weapons and the Ukrainian funding crisis has cause a lot of foreign governments to cancel orders from the USA and place them with reliable vendors in Europe . The biggest loosers are the US people of course because when those contacts get cancelled the price to the US military goes up to account for the lost overseas sales .

We all know DJT says he is a Stable Genius.

And it comes the OEMS here lately they doing their best to start hiding all the individual oems part numbers they are using. Just tried looking up that CC 2012 GTX2000 transaxle even the CC ipls don't list their own PN for it. I did manage to find it is a two piece setup with a HG BDP-10 series pump

Give Briggs for example. Just last year I had a fairly new Briggs new in the shop that needed a coil. Guess what Briggs didn't sell anything for that engine other a carburetor repair kit. When I contacted them they said oh the factory we had produced at closed so no parts are available.

Definitely getting bad. I am running into cases where when a part number goes obsolete they remove the part number from the IPL so there isn't even a reference to try to find used or aftermarket or even knockoff parts. Or the other thing is they OEM will remove the model entirely to the point that the model doesn't even show up in an internet search.

That's messed up. How can they continue building the engine, if they can't even get all the parts for it? I supposed they just get the manufacturers of the model this goes on to install a different engine?

I supposed, it doesn't matter to the customer. I've never seen one who loyal to any certain Briggs engine. Most aren't even loyal to a specific brand. Much less a certain engine.

If I remember correctly this engine is question was fitted on a pressure washer and when Briggs left the pressure washer and portable generator market, they stopped supporting those products as well as the engines that were fitted to them.

Bingo IL that engine was on a pressure washer if I remember correctly but a lot has gone the shop since then.

But yes this mess is getting to a point that I am about to quit the business and just the young folks have the headaches. It like I am supposed to be able to lookup the Kohler short blocks by serial to order parts but the website don't even recognized the serial numbers. I had to email Kohler - Italy to get the IPL for the short block. Then I got the engine repaired.

Or with PD they not telling us when a part is NLA in the price lists. Having to research all over the place just find out the part is NLA.

The pumps probably went out 100 times more than the coils. And if they stopped making the pumps, then they were sent to the scrap yard. That's usually what happens to pressure washers. And with the cost of the pumps, or a rebuild, it's no wonder.

In this case it was due to the Briggs bankruptcy and them getting out of the pressure washer and portable generator market. And since that division was shutdown it was determined that they were going to limit support of the engines used on those items.

All I know for sure is that customers around here are avoiding Briggs engines. Before the bankruptcy I was selling about ten engines per year. And I haven' sold single Briggs since.

It still comes down to financial investors pulling the plug on low volume low profit items.

Most verticals don't much in repairs most times but I did install one horizontal and vertical pump last year (consumer grade). The replacements were cheaper than the rebuild kit for the old pumps.

PT the problem is most people have a faulty separator tube. (TV and CB Jargon) When it comes to politics I think common sense is thrown under the bus. There is so much BS being thrown out even I have a hard time ignoring it but I have to if I going to learn the truth.

But I personally avoid social media because of all the hateful attitude toward someone that has a different view point. Even here I get snapped at times for posting correct info based actual knowledge.

And when it comes to politics here if someone starts I just walk away; just like religion discussions. Both are nothing but trouble. Some folks are so into it they would just kill you if they could get by with it if you are of a different opinion.

And the quote you posted is very true for anything. But as you are probably aware some would argue with a sign without a letter on it.

But meanwhile I am dog hunting the next few days. I seen the culprit this morning attacking one my pet roosters. The boxer is dead meat for killing multiple chickens of mine. Sorry but it is has to be done. The owner should kept their dog under their supervision and control.
We also need to have our analoptic nerve cut, so we lose our $hitty outlook on life!!!

But the stockholders ARE the problem with just about every US listed company
Stock holders demanding ever increasing dividends is what destroys companies.
As I have mentioned on countless occasions, it is not the bum in the while house that is the problem it is Wall St
And it all boils down the the sacred document called the US constitution that like a bible is never allowed to be changed and now is jus about totally irrelevant
Add to that your absolutely idiotic election system and insanely short election terms and it is no wonder the US government is the laughing stock of the entire planet .
While the idea of primaries was good back in the 1800's when only the locals could be there and it was all word of mouth
They are totally outdated in the 21st century when the orange jesus can fly into every one throw piles of money at the biggest idiot in the room with the smallest IQ and they get voted in as the representative after slanging off at each other and trying to convince all and sundry that the other candidates are bigger criminals than they are .
I have no doubt back in the 1800's the candidates were all about what they could do for the state .
Then you have the electorial college that biases the presidential votes , the thing that the orange jesus faked and will go to prison for doing .
Now because congress is only for 2 years there is almost nothing a congress person can do in their term that will show a result before the end of that 2 years so it becomes a massive raffle of taxpayers dollars , which explains the real reason for the massive debt .
Now because you have the stupidly short congress cycles and because voting is voluntary the parties have to spend a fortune to encourage lazy American who would rather whine & cry than actually do something to get of their ever widening butts ( Americans are the most obese population on the planet ) and vote
Now these hundreds of millions have to come from some where and the bulk comes from Wall St and for them it is a INVESTMENT , not a donation and they want a dividend from which ever party gets the bums on seats .
So the US government really is the worst government money can buy and that goes for both coloured undies .
And this is why executive incomes have gone up by an average of 500 times, directors are in the thousands of times while workers are less than 1.5 times in the past 20 years .

The world ain't what it used to be..
It is called the internet
And then there is search algorithms .
I use a VPN so my Google suggestions are all over the place
Most people do not so the algorithms feed you 2 types of news
1) stuff that you will believe without a second of thought because of your confirmation bias , the bulk of which will not be true.
2) a small amount that is 100% against your views , designed to provoke a reaction and make more money for Google, X , Instagram, Tic Toc etc etc etc
And it is big business
Wagner employed 300,000 mostly Africans in their two "communications" businesses .
Their sole job was to create discontent in the government of whatever country he got paid the most for doing it to .
That is where Prigozhin made most of his money from.
Then when violence errupted as happened in Jan 6th in small countries he then offered his mercenary forces to the government of the country to put down the uprising he had created , usually for a chunk of mineral resources like gold, diamonds, cobalt or molly .
According to French doco, in Chad there was a 10 story building devoted solely to spreading lies into America via social media .
So some one who appears outwardly to be exactly like Ray on a mower forum is actually a paid propaganda spreader .
So a lot of these "an illegal stole my house " story or "my daughter was gang raped by 20 illegals " etc etc etc are totally BS but people believe them , even Congress people, who should fact check everything before they open their mouths because AFAIK it is an indictable offence to knowingly lie to congress

What you are saying may be true but those early people that came here were not getting the hand outs and living off the government, they paid their on way. They were not a burden on the government as these are.

I use VPN because I know about cyber security and for You Tube I have more than 1 identity to confuse Musk so he can not exploit me by creating an echo chamber for my personal preferences , because I do not show any .
Because Aust media is cheap, we get way too much US politics on main stream media, I often think it is to hide just how inept our own government is.

During the day the radio is on all day tuned to one of the government stations and because it is a government funded station every party & lobby group listens to every word in case any political , racial, social or religious bias has slipped through and of course facts have to be correct and no opinion pieces are allowed .
I do not watch TV much apart from a couple of gardening & rural shows ( also on the government stations ) but I do attend a lot of public lectures , although not as many as i used to because I do not go into Sydney all that often so most are over before I find out about them .
So you are again making assumption about me based purely on the fact that I do not agree with your views and work from actual facts not Fox .
And FWIW I subscribe to the Lincoln Project who are the true US conservatives who unlike so many have not been brainwashed by the trump circus .
Or as they like to call themselves , the Regan Republicans .
So you could not be any more wrong about me than you have been about the 2020 election fraud , where republican state governments , investigating on behalf of the republican complaints could not find any signs of democrat fraud, only trump fraud , even in states that have been republican for decades and every person in the judiciary were appointed by republicans and most are card carrying republicans .
After the "drop box stuffing" clips were presented, which I watched , I went to the effort to check exactly how the postal votes in the USA , which apparently have been done since the Civil War are conducted and saw they were almost identical to the method we use here and virtually impossible to add extra votes or intercept votes & substitute votes for some one else , so those videos of "ballot stuffers " were actually people posting genuine ballots from places like nursing homes & hospitals . or like trumps "auto workers union rally" totally faked to fool the true believers because no one would bother the check the process . And of course the process was audited by both sides and found to be proper, till they went by majority to democrats so the republicans then said they had been tampered with .

MY father taught me to read well before I went to school
My mother taught me to always question what I read

This has been a very valuable trait over my entire life so it is very rare I get fooled by any one or any organisation regardless of weather I agree with it or not .

It sorta like those so-called GPs here that can't see that something is not right with the patient. I recently asked mine about a worrying problem that I was developing to be only ignored. So ended up in the Horsepital with huge amounts of fluids around my heart. Basically the doctors are creating their patient's problem by ignoring the symptoms of problems.

It is the same politics they just ignoring the developing problems.

And when I thought that DJT couldn't sink much lower he proved me wrong yet again.

All the in fighting is making our government non functional right now. When the adult daycare center members comes back to their senses we might get something done. And are you so proud that DJT keep downing our military personnel? Our military is why we have a lot of our freedoms now. Our forefathers were willing to give their lives to protect our freedoms; are you willing to do the same? DJT is not willing...he would not even serve when asked.

Look you damn fool I am not even an independent party member. A true independent voter. Both the Republican and Democratic parties have both their good and bad points. But when one side flat refuses to compromise on anything then nothing gets done. Right now the House has just a two vote majority and they still are so hardheaded that they can't give a fraction of inch which deadlocking Congress. Compromising is necessary in order to get things done.

But of course we are yet again the path of another government shutdown because Congress can't even pass a general annual budget. So sad that they know this must be done every year yet they wait until the doomsday clock is about to strike midnight every damn year lately. This time half a year has nearly gone by and still nothing is finalized. Then when October 1 get here it starts all over again. Dumber than dumb.

Even in marriages there are compromises. Even marriages has their knock down drag out fights and divorces.

BTW I am withholding all of my Federal taxes now so it doesn't matter which group controls things as neither will get any of my money. And BTW the way I doing it, it is legal. Let's see how they going to budget that when there is a lot less money to budget.

I call them republicrats.

Personally, I think this last senate bill, that the house rejected, was just smoke & mirrors. Along with 90% of the others. Because when it comes to spending on most things, like a continued resolution, they're all voting for that.

Trump signed 12 CR's when he was in office. 2 debt ceiling increases. And suspended the debt ceiling for 2 years. And neither the republicans or democrats said much of anything.
McCarthy and now Johnson both were fine passing CR's.

The difference between the right and left is just smoke & mirrors.

That's all we have now, is a uniparty. They keep the names separate to make people think theirs a difference. Schumer, McCarthy, Biden or Trump never had a problem passing all those CR (continued resolutions). They had no problem raising the debt ceiling or passing and signing those omnibus bills.

Trump vetoed only 1 spending bill in 4 years. He reauthorized FISA 702 (warrantless spying on Americans.) He assaulted our 2A with his bump stock ban. And publicly supported red flag laws, saying "I like taking the guns first. Then do due process later." <<<<An actual quote.

He started the first covid mandates. And may very well have done more, but he was on his way out of office. After all, he bashed DeSantis and Kemp for opening up their states sooner than he wanted.
Then he even had the nerve to give Fauci an commendation on his last day in office.

To say that we're not ruled under one party now, makes me think you're not paying close enough attention to what they're actually doing.

As far as the border goes.... (with this last immigration bill) If Biden could so easily secure the border, without any more money, without some new law, then why didn't Trump do it on his own authority. Why was he always begging Pelosi for the money for border security? His own Department of Homeland Security never went without billions in all those CR's.

It's just smoke and mirrors, designed by the uniparty, to keep people voting, donating and divided.

This bill is horrible. Ukraine is none of our business. And Israel is the $34 richest country in the world. They don't need our money. Especially since we don't have it. That $100 billion will have to be borrowed. We're already paying $2 trillion per year in interest on the debt. It's crap like that that keeps inflation on the rise and makes things cost more and more.

Because the debt is so high, it's another reason why the IRS is scraping every dime it can get it's hands on from US. We already pay the government enough. The more we pay, the more they waste. And when that isn't enough, they borrow it from the fed.

I see you're point about how they don't compromise. If it was on decent legislation, like giving Maui $60 billion, to help rebuild after their fire, that would be one thing. Because Hawaii is American. But $60 billion (more) to Ukraine?
Heck no.

One thing about Ukraine at least they are only asking for weapons and not for us to put American boots on the ground. Many of the countries we have helped want out troops on the ground fight their wars for them.

And yes Israel has plenty of money on hand so they don't money just given to them.

I totally agree we help our people first.

But either way there needs to be a full accounting of the money spent. It like all the stimulus money handed out, quite a bit of it was basically stolen yet people like me are still awaiting on it. What was worst I gotten a loan on the first round as I was needing it right a way so I got stiff on that by having to pay interest on the borrowed funds.

A full accounting of money spent? 🤣🤣🤣

This is my problem with the GOP (or the dems too, actually) Both sides refuse to discuss all the detailed expenditures hidden in those bills. Especially when their party has the majority.

All those weapons that go to countries like Ukraine, still cost us hundreds of billions. Ukraine's government, like Russia's, is corrupt. They've been bleeding us and other countries for decades. From what I understand, they were bleeding Russia for decades. And Russia wasn't getting nothing in return. They're a welfare sponge.

I think our government knows this. So the question is why are we still giving them anything? None of that matters to the average American citizen. But it matters to someone in DC and those connected. The only logical explanation is that someone is going to highly profit from this (as they do all wars).

Republicans aren't trying to save anything except themselves. Same as democrats.

Trump gave to Ukraine and funded NATO. He also funded Hamas and Palestine when he was in office. And Israel too. Remember, Trump only vetoed 1 spending bill in his entire 4 years. He funded gender studies in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The Senate passed it. The senate has an almost equal number of R & D's. So trying to put the blame on just the left, is off base. Because enough GOP senators supported this foreign aid bill to get it passed. That is the facts. Most of those GOP senators were Trump endorsed.
BTW, I don't watch left leaning MSM. I am a fiscal conservative. I believe in small, limited government that lives within it's means. And takes care of this country first. So trying to put me left of center is also off base.

Republicans now days simply don't understand fiscal conservatism and how it built this country by not destroying the USD value. By not getting into our personal and business lives. By allowing free market capitalism to rule the economy. It wasn't until big spending, big government politicians like LBJ, Reagan, Trump & Obama decided they knew better how to run it, than we do, did this country stop being great. When they allowed lobbyist to be more important than "we the people." When they started expanding the debt to extreme amounts. As if it was a money tree that produced all year long.

Obviously this bill has nothing to do with immigration, because it's not an immigration bill. It's a foreign aid bill. Supported by a majority of Republicans and democrats. Same as all the CR's that were passed, debt ceiling increases & omnibus bills that passed and were signed into law by both Biden & Trump.

So it sounds to me, exactly like you're paying closer attention to what's being said, than what's actually being done. Because what's being done, is the same exact thing that's been going on since at least Reagan. Smoke & mirrors. Lying from both sides to keep you divided and voting.

We cannot afford the foreign aid. Billions for Ukraine? Really? For the corrupt Ukraine? Ya gotta be crazy! If it all made it to where it was supposed to go, it would be over. If Russia hasn't beaten them down yet, they may never do it! My question is where is the rest of the world on Ukraine?

Still trying to figure out which will end the world first. An asteroid or global warming or politicians. Time to see how much bottled water, cans of spam and toilet paper I have.
That one is easy
We are removing the only thing that can turn CO2 into O2 ( plants ) at an ever increasing rate while consuming O2 at an ever increasing rate
The curves crossed each other quite so time ago so we will asphyxiate ourselves in the not too distant future
For the past 4 years the world has relied on queen bees from Australia & NZ because all the bees in Europe & America suffered from Varroa destructor mite and finally it has arrived here so expect some massive price rises in cereal crops & canola . and of course, that will be Bidens fault .
One of the causes for the outbreaks of Varroa was lower oxygen levels which made the bees weaker and one of the reasons why Aust & NZ bees managed to stave it off for so long is the oxygen levels here are 1 % to 3 % higher on average
Well varroa is established here now so that leaves NZ as the only supplier of disease free queens.
Around 75% off all plants consumed are insect pollinated and all insects rely on partial pressure to supply their oxygen as most do not have lungs.
Many cities regularly drop below 19.5% which is the cut off level for the provision of breathing assistance in industry .

So starve or axphyxiate , take your pick
This is one of the reasons I am childless because while my children may live to an old age the grandkids won't .

Well Germany has already exceeded the USA and general funding from the EU is also well above the USA.
Total NATO funding is also above the USA and excludes bilatteral & EU aid so the USA is around number 5 which is a bit pathetic for the biggest arms manufacturer in the world and the country with the biggest armoary
Ukraine is shaking off the soviet era corruption that is one of the reasons why Putin invaded because they renationalised the bank so Putin lost his $ 800,000 he was stealing from it every year , sorry, special dividend , not stealing .
Ukraine has moved up 9 places in the corruption index, the biggest yearly anti corruption shift ever since the index was initiated .
The USA by the way is going down .
Next not 1¢ of US aid goes as cash, it all goes as weapons, mostly obsolete weapons that were going to COST the USA to decommission so sending weapons to Ukraine actually saves the USA money and stimulates business INSIDE the USA as all of the arms are manufactured in the USA so it is jobs for Americans not money for Ukrainians.
And on top of that the uSA has monitors in Ukraine checking the inventory to ensure that every bullet gets to where it is supposed to go and they found ZERO corruption .

The Ukrainians will eventually prevail because they believe in what they are doing so will fight to the last man, woman & child .
All the withholding of ammunition is going to do is create yet another country that hates the USA and that my friend is an ever increasing list .
Isolationism did not work in your own civil war ( guess where the weapons came from ? ) and it was not the USA , most came from Europe , The UK ( BSA ) Sweeden ( husqvarna ) and Belgium ( FN ) but go to any civil war museum and only US weapons will be on display and the bulk of the gunpowder was also imported .
Right now the republican silly buggers has just lost Lockhead - Martin $ 16,000,000,000,000 in PROFITS from export orders because a lot of countries have cancelled their orders for HIMARS launchers because the entire world now sees the USA as an unreliable & untrustworthy weapons supplier .
So that 61 billion had a 42 billion profit , note I said PROFIT for Lockhead - Martin built into it from foreign orders .
India has also cancelled their HIMARS launchers and placed orders on France, they have also cancelled their F 35 order .
The French system is not as good as the USA one but they now have orders for 3,500 so that will provide a lot of profit to do a lot of R & D so the French ones will be better than the USA ones .
Rheinmetal & Lockhead have just signed a joint developement for the GIMARS to be built in Germany and all,of the rockets are to be built in Germany so in place of L_M making $ 16,000,000 on every export HIMARS they will only be making $ 4,000,000 on very GMARS and in place of making $ 250,000 profit on every rocket they will make a $ 50,000 royalty , and hat is until the Germans develop their own system .
These are the sort of costs that being an isolationist occur .
And then there will be the retaliation sales lost, Cincinnati Machinery will probably never sell another 5 axis mil to any European factory again .
All of the USA's high value exports go to to Europe and that market will dry up because the USA will be seen as hostile .

But you need to pull your head out of your orifice to see the Republicans are trying to save what we have left and not become servants to Europe and China...
Migrants are not and never did steal jobs, apart from the ones trump imported ( all undocumented ) 4 times to break union bans on trump tower and I think 27 of them died or were permanently dissabled because the site was unsafe .
And plase do not try & tell me that you are going to pick fruit in the hot sun on piece rate like the undocumented workers do, or go clean trumps appartment for $ 5 /hr
As for jobs, Wall St exported 27,000,000 jobs to China when they outsourced the bulk of manufacturing to China , that is where the jobs have gone .
Obama started to try & bring them back by offering massive interest free loans and cash incentives to businesses who came back on shore and trump continued the Obama "working America " scheme and of course claimed it was all his doing.

Israel can get by fine without any US aid at all
They have he second largest arsenal in Europe, second only to russia
The day they were attacked the raised and armed 300,000 troops and they are not in any way shape or form in need of US aid
In fact Israel is sending Patriot missiles to Ukraine because the USA will not send them.

And no I am not a Palestine sympathiser , the residents of Gazza deserved everything they got and still more .
However that does not excuse Israel who has been treating all of the Palestinians worse then the southerners treated their black slaves
SO what happened was to be expected and remember it is all being funded by the petrol you have been filling your tank with for the past 50 years.

Everything you have said so far are russian talking points taken strait off Russia Today and they are all gross exaggerations if not total lies .
I am amazed at just how gullible , stupid and lazy Americans are because all of these arguement can be countered by spending 10 minutes on the web
And by that I mean government & industry sites no face book, tic toc & X
And did you see Musk has just been ordered to repay Tesla the 54 billion he awarded himself as a bonus ?

We cannot afford the foreign aid. Billions for Ukraine? Really? For the corrupt Ukraine? Ya gotta be crazy! If it all made it to where it was supposed to go, it would be over. If Russia hasn't beaten them down yet, they may never do it! My question is where is the rest of the world on Ukraine?

Now Israel is a different story. After WW 2 they were given the land, to the best of my knowledge. So why is the rest of the world tolerating the constant attacks? They're like, "screw it, let America deal with it"... Guess what, America isn't the world piggy bank! Others need to step the F up and help peace.

Our borders are the most important thing. Actually, to keep foreign a$$holes out. Now if they want to emigrate legally, come on in. But some of the scum coming in is disgusting. And the real reason they are allowed in: new Democrat voters. It needs to end. Trump will try, but will be interferred with for sure.
Wrong again
They were given SOME ONE ELSES's land at the end of WW I under an agreement with did not bother to ask the people who were already living there .
While it was part of the OTTERMAN empire it was inhabited mostly by Arabs from minority Islamic sect .
To get an idea how would you feel if the British marched into your town forced you to leave at gunpoint then gave your keys to the indians.
Trucked you to the middle of the Arizona desert lands with no water or electricity and told you that was your new home ?
This is what actually happened but few jews went there till after WW II when of course no one on the planet wanted any "filty jews" unless of course they had money of nuclear weapons knowledge when the USA welcomed them with open arms , but poor jews were not welcome in the USA because they would bring diseases, steal jobs from Americans , introduce communism , rape decent American woman , cause moral corruption , steal from Americans ( now where have I heard that list lately ?)
And just so you know 30% of the jews in Israel came from Crimea and 14% from the rest of Russia to escape from Stalin who was slaughtering them or sending them to Siberia ( same thing ) .And this was just before he started slaughtering the Ukrainians

Again, I'm a fiscal conservative. You know, that thing that Republicans (RINO's) campaign on, but never deliver on. I'm not sure how any of what I post comes off as being pro left. I can only imagine that it stems from a lack of knowledge of what actual conservatism really is.

Again, small, limited government that lives within it's means. <<< What I support.

What the RINO's have done. Including Trump.
Assaulted our 2A and publicly supported red flag laws.
Passed 12 CR's
Passed many CR's since Biden has been president. (with a GOP majority in the House)
Increased the debt ceiling twice and suspended it for 2 years.
Initiated covid mandates by forcing landlords to go without rent for a year
Would not allow people to see their loved ones in nursing homes and hospitals
Signed several omnibus bills into law.
Signed unconstitutional reauthorizations, like FISA 702, the NDAA and the Patriot Act.

That's the short list. And are things that no actual conservative would've supported. So when you assume that I lean left in any way, shape or form, I can't only assume that you're misguided. And since you're not willing to even try to understand fiscal and constitutional conservatism, I can't only assume that you're a RINO, who supports RINO's with your vote.

RINO's pose no opposition to the left, except during an election season. The rest of the time, they're spending just as much as the left.

Calling out Trump and the RINO's when they lean left, doesn't make someone a democrat or a liberal/progressive. Just sayin.

Except for donations, the money in politics is mostly our money. $34 trillion our money was borrowed by the R & D's. They borrowed and spent it like it was their money, and then stuck us with the bill.
The Republican politicians campaign on spending cuts & balanced budgets. Then once elected, go on spending spree's until election time comes back around. Then promise the same thing again. Rinse and repeat.

I call out the right because I'm dead set against the left. The GOP is the only party that has the ability to oppose the left. But when they never bring any real opposition to the left (except during an election season), then what good are they?

Here's a bit of info most don't know.
Committee seats come with a price tag. Anywhere from $800,000 to something like $1.5 million. If you're selected to be on a committee, you either have to fork over the cash, raise it for the party your affiliated with or allow a lobbyist (or 2) to fork over the money for you. (the latter is the normal way)
Then you're supposed to raise money to pay the lobbyist back. Or simply vote the way the lobbyist wants you to.
I've come to the conclusion that committee's are where Amendments and bills go for lobbyist approval.

RINO = Republicans In Name Only

I get the sarcasm in your post. But just to clarify, for those who might not fully understand RINO. Some think it's simply a republican that opposes Trump. To them, it's a way to insult a Republican that's not in lock step with MAGA.
The correct acronym should be CINO. (Conservative). Initially, that's what RINO meant, because before Reagan came along, Republicans were predominantly conservative.
Before Reagan, someone with Trumps record would've been tossed under the GOP bus, tarred and feathered and shipped out of DC on a rail. Now they're put on high and praised as a Godsend.
And when ever an actual conservative politician calls a RINO out (especially Trump) for too much spending, assaulting our 2A or anything along those lines, they get bashed and called all sorts of childish names.

LMAO.. Take this thread, I've already been deemed a leftist, because I support small, limited government that lives within it's means, by a RINO that doesn't even realize he is a RINO.

So far that was not any reported gang warfare reported even on FoxNews about the Kansas City Chiefs parade. It is still under investigation,

Quote from FoxNews>
Kansas City Police tell Fox News there are two juveniles currently in custody. A third juvenile was determined not to be involved and was released. Investigators are now working with juvenile prosecutors to review investigative findings to determine charges.

Authorities said "the relationship between the subjects involved is still under investigation" but that there is no evidence of links to terrorism.

"First and foremost, I want to stress that preliminary investigative findings have shown there was no nexus to terrorism or homegrown violent extremism," Graves said. "This appeared to be a dispute between several people that ended in gunfire."

With semi automatics even a citizen defending themselves will fire multiple rounds but can release the trigger. I gotta admit, I was all in for Reagan. Much like these people are for Trump. But in my defense, this was way before the internet, where voting records and information was easy to obtain. I was pretty heartbroken to find out Reagan was one of the first real RINO's. Once I found out his actual record, I lost a lot of trust in politicians.

Dang, I haven't voted for anyone who's won a presidential or congressional seat since Reagan. There's been a lot I've supported who were already elected. articles. They all basically posting the same info.

With semi automatics even a citizen defending themselves will fire multiple rounds but can release the trigger. It is like videos I have seen of law enforcement unloading whole clips before they are even sure of the threats nowadays. There was clip of officer going into a shooting round just because an acorn dropped on his car within the last week. They are trigger happy too. Apparently they are now being train to shoot first then ask questions.
I believe ESPN had mentioned gang activity in an article. I don't jump to conclusions. That gets people in trouble. What cracks me up is the lengths you and bert go to to try to prove something I said wrong.
I don't need to lie, or somehow distort the truth. You guys live to promote a narrative that most sane people know is propaganda.

But like you said, the shooting is still under investigation, so you are jumping to conclusions just stating I'm wrong. I do agree that some cops are way too trigger happy/ power drunk. Just look on you tube videos regarding constitutional audits.

People like Ron Paul (TX) Chip Roy (TX) Thomas Massie (KY) Justin Amash (MI). But I've never been lucky enough to have an actual fiscal and constitutional conservative in my state or district.
I've had the misfortune of living in NY and MD. I know about not having my preferred candidate win...

My state is 100% Republican (US politicians), and they're all RINO's. Every last one of them. They, and their democrat challengers will never earn my support or vote.

Since I am not into sports I do not view ESPN here for this reason as it is a waste of my time.

Now I still looking for murder charges to be filed but that hasn't happen yet. Just gun and resisting arrest charges for the two minors they got in custody.

So far they said they have multiple guns recovered and that this is out 48th mass shooting this year. Guns are way to easy to obtain through the black market now especially since they can 3D print them. They are currently doing tests to find out gun did the killing.

Either way when bullets start flying in a crowd a lot things are going to go wrong quickly. Kinda surprised there was no major stamped deaths.

But people are quick to try to say you did something you didn't do. Sorta like the neighbors next door. I have a 12 gauge loaded with "T" shot (triple BB size pellets) express loads. His wife claimed I shot the side of their house with it. Believe me that vinyl siding would not stand up to the shot if I did it and no there no sign of such a thing happening. BTW she can't the difference between a 12 ga and .22 either as she said I using a .22 when the only thing I use for varmints is the 12 ga. Until I get a apology they are just the people next door to avoid. Baptist my hind leg, just using the church to cover up their lies. Kinda glad he left after showing his A$$ instead following me into my home. Boy I hate to send a .357 hollow point thru someone but it is available if it comes to that.

And PT around here all you got to do look at the law enforcement cross eyed and they are ready to pull their service weapon. I avoid them at all costs. Otherwords when they come in a fast food joint I leave. I don't want to be around when they get the wrong food order. A good example was the last time I was at the courthouse to pay my taxes. Both officers at the metal detector had their hands on their guns just because my steel toe shoes sat the detector off which I had already told them I was wearing. Can't even pay your taxes without being threaten nowadays.

Back in the day when I serviced their copiers I was in the Dayton police building so often I didn't bother going through the metal detector at security. They would just wave me through and I had almost all the door codes to the secure areas. If I got a parking ticket in the city I just took them in and they disappeared. If you want to see office equipment get abused just put it in a city police department.

I’m pretty sure you have no clue what you’re talking about because there are very few V 10 and V12 engines in the US!

I think Porsche is about the only vehicle with V10 and V12 here in the states. Most large SUVs are V8 powered. But SUVs are in the same class as pickups so a whole different set safety standards. I think I have personally seen one V12 in my lifetime so far and that Porsche took up more than it fair share of a parking space. And have yet to see a V10.

With some the engine designs now some V6 engines are more powerful than older V8s. I got a Vortex V6 that is just powerful as the V8 it replaced. Now of cross I got a 4 speed automatic instead of a three speed.

My 1990 GMC pickup with a 5.7 V8 had 195hp. My 2018 GMC pickup with a 4.3 V6 has 285hp according to GM

The 4L60E is considered a 4 speed. Although 4th is an overdrive range with a lockup torque convertor.

I think it is. Started out life as a 4.3L (265) V8 then went to 5.7L (350) then got 2 cylinders chopped off to a 4.3L (262) then a computer, fuel injection and variable valve timing. Just one of the evolutions of the small block chevy.

Hmmm my '79 265 V8 left me getting an average mpg of 22.6 and highway mpg of 32. And porbably would got better mileage with a 200R4 Metric transmission instead of the 700R4. Originally the engine only got 16 mpg combined. Yet my current V6 only gets 15-17 mpg combined. They are not trying to get better mileage.

The V 10's stick out like dogs balls down here where the bulk of the cars are 4 cylinder and most SUVs are diesel strait 4 or V 6 .
Hence the hideous design stands out in the memory.
Unfortunately since GM & Ford closed their factories here, all we get now are the hideously ugly US styled agro vehicles or properly designed UK cars that are amazingly unreliable or the just plain overpriced European vehicles with crap build quality ( they make Teslas look well made )

So you believe some thing that trump says ?
Go back to the trump web site and read the fine print
There are no shoes apart from the pair trump had at sneaker con
Read the sales conditions
The Midas Touch went through the whole thing just the same as they went through trump steak, the tump bed ware & the fungable tokens
All shell companies within shell companies within shell companies .
So they have taken 1,000 orders they have not sold a single shoe other than the sample pair
Checks the web page, no idea when they will be delivered , some time after June ?

remember trump is a real estate con man .
Ever gone past a block of new apartments & seen a "last one" or "all sold" then a week latter suddenly there are only 3 left
It is called FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out ) and it makes people open their wallets without thinking

The job should allow the cops to knock the heck out of some of these retards, just for wasting their time and their mentality. Again, they're not robots. All these entitled folks don't deserve respect or trained officers. They don't do anything but make our society worse off. Many of them aren't fit for society. But the police are supposed to treat them as equal as two adult acting individuals who have a legitimate disagreement?
Yeah na.

The child acting folks need to be treated like children. Not entitled spoiled children.

Do you realize how many trillions of $$$$ goes into try to protect citizens from these kind of people? Everything from door locks to federal penitentiary's. The amount of police, jails, prisons, security camera's, dead bolt locks on our houses that's now required. They're the reason why so many decent people in the USA have to have guns now a days. Because police are forced to treat these people with too much respect. The prosecutors and judges only give them a slap on the wrist.

One sellers ( who did not have the shoes ) has 0 sales teamso-14 and joined in Feb 2024 and every image is off the trump promo web site, ie:- he does not have the shoes .

Another Mjoe_Collects is honest enough to say they are pre-sale and he will ship when they arrive
And dare-9168 has 3 items for sale . 1 each of trumps sneakers . again all listed as ships July .

Now trump could say the sky was purple and he just sold 10 appartments in Trump Tower on the moon & 1/2 of the USA papers would run the story as if it was gospel truth .
Most media still call him President trump not ex or previous or retired and most still run the narraive that 2020 was stoles despite the fact that 82 court cases, 60 of them in republican states with republican appointed judges could find NO EVIDENCE of any election fraud and the $ 7,000,000 special republician investigation actually found more votes for Biden . He has to find $ 86,000,000 for his appeal in the Carrol case to go ahead and he can not find that nor can he get a bail bond for that much .
He had to post the original $ 6,500,000 in cash for the original appeal against the Carrol verdict because he could not find a bonding company to cover it so he took it from the republican election campaign fund which is outside the charitable use classification so he will owe the IRS $ 2,405,000 because the $ 6,500,000 will be considered to be personal income , which is why he wants to defund the IRS . He can not borrow the money in Amercia because he is banned from taking any loan out with a bank registered to do business in NY and that is just about every bank in he world , including russia & china .
He testified under oath that he has $ 400,000,000 in cash on hand in the NY fraud trial and if it is found that he does not have $ 400,000,000 then that is either contempt or perjury so more potential court cases and the judge warned all parties several times that any perjury will lead to further prosecutions .When your whole life is nothing but a web of lies eventually you get caught up in them .
He has 22 days left to stump up with the Carrol money from the 3 cases he lost every time and the SCOTUS appeal will go nowhere because he has no grounds for an appeal . The NY fraud case is the same , there are no grounds for an appeal there either , the court has the power to increase it and it is accruing 9% compound interest .
Interestingly he filed an appeal today for a delay in the writs of execution being filed with no reason , just a please sir delay it for 30 days .
And funny enough the judge who he has abused , ridiculed , accused to be biased and slandered daily with his deranged midnight posts rejected the appeal so the documents were filed Friday and he now has 30 days, tic tock, tic tock Also note his threats are supposedly behind the almost daily death threats against the judge, his family his children and also against the court clerk and his family such that all of them have 24/7 security guards and trump says he is being persecuted .
The court appointed supervisor , who was chosen from 3 that trump advanced and who he has now slandered as well , estimates that trump may actually own less than 10% of all of his properties as they are all heavily leveraged so in 30 days expect a fire sale , in fact she doubts that trumps has sufficient equity in his entire assets , apart form the trump brand to pay the fine .

There's a difference between conservatives and Republicans. Fact is, there's only a handful of actual conservatives left. The RINO's (Trump, McConnell, Mike Johnson) only identify as conservatives. Like one of those trans people.
And most of the true conservative are not standing , they are all fed up with the maga antics so can not allow their good name to be associated with this do nothing congress .
They just has the republican convention ( where trump agains did his grifting ) and interestingly, there was no one there .
If you watch the Fox coverage there is only ever close ups of the speakers and if you listen closely, there is very little applauding because there was no one there to applaud
Another main stream media coverage added canned applause and even then it was badly done because you can hear it was identical every time

Guys like this are few and far between in our nations capital. And regardless of how conservative this man is, how excellent his voting record is, he'd never stand a chance against a RINO like Trump.
