Repairs Help with clutch return spring!

I have a tractor 917.287380 and am trying to repair the clutch return spring. Part 195403 (#161 in parts manual) I know where it attaches on the shaft assembly, but where does the other end go?
Is it on the mower deck?

I’m sure you’re correct, but I’m not seeing any hole on the idler arm that the end would go into.

Get a piece of string about twice the length of the spring.
Tie it to the known anchor point then move it in an arc around the mower frame.
Take a strong flashlight with you and look for a spot that is shiny from the wear.
Usually a tension spring will be extended by 1/2 to 1/3 of it's resting length so the anchor point will be some where along the string line

Some times the parts books will show the anchor point some times they don't
