Hey everyone, so I got this mower that didn't work for free, I drained the gas, changed the oil, put on a new fuel line, a new carburetor, and put fresh gas in. It will start, but doesn't rev very high at all, and slowly just dies over about 10 seconds. I've tried adjusting the carburetor screw to just about every position.

Any ideas why it won't start regularly and why it really won't run?

Speed could be related to either the governor spring not connected correctly or out of adjustment. Or could also be that the throttle linkage isn't connect correctly since you replaced the carb. Also the slow die could be related to a not venting issue with the tank. Some of those Tecumseh engines vent through the cap threads, so if you tighten it down won't vent.

Throttle linkage would be the metal hook that opens the valve on the carb? I'll mess with that, the governor, and gas cap and let you know, thanks!
