This is my 1st post and really need some help, I have a John Deere LA115 and i thought the battery had gone flat, as i didn't have a charger i used my truck to jump start it. it worked and i went about my business. I turned it off and now it will not start! The lights work the speedometer works except when i sit on the seat???? i have taken the plug out from under the seat and have given it a good clean but still nothing. I have also had problems only occasionally with starting when putting my foot on the break it doesn't turn over! but that happens every now and then.
I hope someone can help

Is the starter doing anything? Is it trying to engage or clicking or anything at all? You will need to give a little more info. But if you can jump it off with your truck then the battery might be bad. It takes more power to start than run lights.
Sitting on the seat should not have any effect wether or not your lights work or not. Your battery may be low or your stator may not be charging the battery. Check for voltage in the battery while engine is off and while running to mske sure your battery is being charged. If its not charging then check for corroded wire broken wires etc. have your battery charged and tested before you get a new one also. And if all that looks good if your motor is hot when its hard to start it could be a starter problem or your motor getting weak and worn

it started once jump starting it off the truck how ever the lights work and the digital read out on the dash works until i sit on the seat. I get no response at all from the motor.
The battery is only 6 months old? Do you think a new one will fix the problem?
