Help. Murray Select 16.5 missing model number

I just bought a used Murray Select 16.5 riding mower. It has a manual transmission. It's all black with seperate headlights and a B&S engine. It runs great but the cutting deck vibrates badly when ingaged. I have no Idea what the model number is to get parts. The label under the seat is completely dstroyed. Is there another way to find out what model it is?

Did you get any paperwork when you purchased the used mower that could possibly say something on it?

Four things cause vibration on decks. 1. Bent or out of balanced blades. 2. Pulleys that are worn, bent or loose. 3. Bent jackshaft. 4. Worn or cracked belts. You will have to check everything, as it may be a combination of any of these.

the deck on my mtd shook badly when i got it too. like rivets said the blades were all bent out of shape, and i also put new bearings on the deck too.

The engine is, briggs & Stratton OHV 28W707, type 0121-E1, code 980211ZE. The transaxle is Peerless Tecumse MST-206-502C 8062A0368. It has a 42" cutting deck.

Here are some possible model numbers for you Murray. Seeing that most Murray deck parts are interchangeable you should be able to find the parts you need. Post if you need more help.

:smile: Could not do anything with those numbers. What size deck is on that LT? Rivets gave you some good advice, try some of those numbers. Don B.
