I got back from vacation and called first thing Monday morning, but they are closed on Mondays. Called back Tuesday and at first they told me it would be another week and a half before it would be ready. I asked if it had even been looked at and if not, I would come pick it up and use it like it was until things calmed down. I was heading out the door to pick it up when they called back saying it was in fact done and I could pick it up around three. I don't know why I had to wait 5 hours to pick it up but at 2:59 I was sitting in their parking lot. It was ready and I paid my bill. I had asked them to install a new set of blades and resharpen the old ones. I also picked up oil for the engine and hydro's and also a new head for my trimmer. It came out to $132.00 which I thought was pretty fair. I expected it to be a tad more and even asked him about it and he said they gave me a discount on the blade set and that was why it was not more.
I looked over the ticket and they replaced the brake cable they also replaced the spindle on the right side of the deck which I kind of suspected was bad. I got it loaded and before I got two blocks, I knew that brake cable was bad from the start. When I hauled it the first time it moved all over my dump trailer and had to stop and strap it down. This time it sat there and never moved a bit all the way home. They adjusted the tracking, and it was a little better than before but still not as good as I had hoped for.
Anyway, I got it unloaded and tried it out and it now cuts great with no noise it still vibrates a little more than I thought it should, but I'll deal with that. I cut grass for about 35 minutes, and it ran out of gas and had to go get some more. I had just filled it completely up before it went to the shop which tells me that they ran the thing a long time trying to get it to make all that noise it was making. Most of the time with a come and go problem you will get a no problem found when you pick it up, but they went the extra mile and ran it until it acted up which I greatly appreciate.
My grass was really tall and was expecting to have to cut it 2 or 3 times but the first time over it cut my Zosia and Bermuda really nice with no mess left behind. It even cut the other parts that are mostly weeds well enough that I didn't have to go over it a second time. All and all They did a good job which is sometimes hard to get these days. Thanks again
