Hello all. Recently picked up a GX75 as my very first mower. I’m not at all happy with the cut. It has the tricycler mulching kit and the blade is sharp and not at all bent or damaged. I seem to be scalping my lawn. I have the deck raised as high as possible and have the antiscalp wheels on the deck dropped down as far as they go but I’m still getting a very short cut. What an I try next?

Check to see if there are spacers on the blade shaft. Some mowers have this to raise/lower blade within the deck.

On a GX75 there is very little room for spacers, need to check that your deck is level on a level surface. I own a GX75 & it is a fine mower if maintained properly.

I'm in the same boat, I have a Z355e with 50 hours with Gator blades. In order to get a quality cut, I have to cut the yard twice. I'm on the second to highest cut setting. All the grass in the middle of the deck cut just fine, but when you get to the outer section of the cutting deck, the grass isn't cut as well - it appears that the deck can't get the grass to stand up and only cuts the top portion of it. I've thought about getting a mulch kit, but heard mixed reviews. Anyone else having this issue?

I live in North Florida, and have operated a riding mower in many different places in Florida over the years (many).

I also have a 355E. I have had it going on 3 years and have the same problem with the quality of the cut!

I added a mulch kit from JD it works OK but doesn't solve the cut issue.

I have adjusted my deck many times(both the hand operated adjustment and the one under the cowling (17mm wrench), it helps some but not much.

If you mow on a relativity flat lawn then you will get an OK cut. If you have any slanted ground the grass will be scalped on the down hill side.

I don't think there much you can do about that. It cuts great on flat land.
