I have a Honda GX 270 that runs perfect except that it will not turn off using the on and off switch. The switch tests good and I even went so far to replace it. I am now stopping the engine by choking the carb. Engine starts on first pull whether switch is in on or off position. Any ideas?
Post mower or equipment make, model & serial numbers and year. Check out page 15 spark arrestor," hands on " inspect all wiring & linkage, springs, etc. at engine making sure everything is operating properly. When engine is cold, lubricate linkage at engine.
The engine is on a Northstar (Northern Tool) 37 Ton Log splitter 2009 model. The engine, a Honda GX 270 is the problem.

Don't know how the throttle linkage is set up on your log splitter but the engine turns off by grounding the coil primary wire. Small wire that goes to the coil.
