Hi there, I just got a Great Dane super saver 52 with Kawasaki engine unknown HP, engine has a hole on the side, my question is what motor will work with this mowers? I know zero turn’s mower engine you can swap with a riding mower engine and will fit perfect, this Stand type of mower are new to me,
Do you guys know if I can swap a Riding mower Engine on this Great Dane?
I really appreciate any help
Thank you
Mounting holes are on the same centers but of course the wiring will need new plugs unless you go with the same engine.
Double check the diameter and length of the crankshaft to make sure the old and new are the same.
Here is what I found so far, Engine is a Kohler command, standard engine, the wire plug looks differen from the riding mower , Hopefully I can get a dig. to rewire a new plug. thank you
Well you still have the engine in the mower so hook the wires back up and follow then to were they go.
Fold a length of masking tape over each wire on the mower side to form a label and write where they go to ,, coil, carb, ground etc etc etc
Do you still have the original engine ?
If so do as advised previously.
There will not be any magical items on the new engine.
A wire to shut off the engine
A wire to energise the fuel solenoid ( some times with a ground wire )
A wire to the starter solenoid ( some times with a ground wire )
A wire to carry the generated power back to the battery.
Perhaps another kill wire if the engine has a low oil switch.
