Great Cluster in Hercules (M13)

I just went outside tonight and I looked at m13. Much to my suprise, it only looked like a cloud (And yes I'm positive it wasn't a cloud) I have a celestron 130 mm StarSeeker f/5 using 26x. Was it just my eyes, my telescope or the atmosphere?

It is possible they were mowing and the dry conditions there was causing an unusually large amount of dust...
