I sent a message to Scag via their website inquiring about greasing the mower. On page 32 of my operator's manual, it calls for chassis grease on the Cutter Deck Drive Shaft Slip Sleeve. On page 33, the diagram indicates that a lithium grease is required. Here is the very quick response I received from Scag:
Good Morning Mr. ms,
Thank you for contacting us with your question.
These days it seems that the lithium MP White grease 2125 called out in your operators manual is becoming more difficult to find.
Our recommendation is that in its place you use any good quality lithium based grease meeting the NLGI #2 rating. You will find
this identified on the tube. Another advantage of using the NLGI #2 grease is that you can use it on all of the grease fittings on
your mower.
