I need to change the hydraulic oil in my Gravely ZT42, with a Hydro-Gear EZT. What type of oil is needed? Filters? Plus steps and tips to accomplish the task. I have read elsewhere on this forum about servicing Hydro-Gears and am needing the same thorough guidance for my task. Thank you.

To My knowledge the Hydro Gear EZT is not a serviceable unit.

After viewing Hydro-Gear's product presentation for the EZT, it looks like I may be replacing the right side unit. The unit gets sluggish without warning after a couple of hours continual usage. With an hour cool down period it seems to work fine. Just concerned and don't want to buy a new drive unit if a little maintenance can help.

Basically a little maintenance doesn't exists. If you want to service the EZT 2100 or 2200 you have to remove the whole unit from the mower and take it apart and there are not any filters to knowledge to replace and the oil is any type of 20w50 motor oil, then you have to purge the unit after you get it back together and on the unit. If your having problems with the unit take it back to the dealer and let them do the job would be the best option.
