My 6 year old battery was on it's last leg, and I decided to jump it with my car battery. It started up right away, and I cut my 3 acres of lawn. After I finished I tried putting the battery on a Battery Charger and Maintainer, but to spite charging it my battery would not hold a charge. So today I went and bought a new battery, and even thought the lights shines bright within my hour glass tell my my battery is okay and getting juice, but when I turn on the switch to start it, I hear nothing not a single sound at all. Not even a click. Could by charging it by way of my car battery caused the solenoid to go bad?

Not likely but you have probably blown a fuse or have a bad battery lead.
Remember there are two of them and they both have 2 ends that need to be clean & tight.
Also note the power feed to the mower will be either on the + battery terminal or on the battery side of the solenoid .
