Why would the lug tires be better installed in reverse pattern?

All the experienced people I have talked to say that the most common scenario is the while mowing downhill forwards that is the time when the mower will slip. Their advice has consistently to use a Chevron tyres backward. Hence maximum grip when try to slow the mower. As a inexperienced person the advice has been so consistent I am going with it. I have a few slopes on the lawn and I saw one mower definitely slide with normal tyres, dry day and green grass. I did not need an more convincing. A demo of the chevron tyres proved stable and safe.

Well after a tight tussle I went with the Gravely 460 with reversed lug tyres. I would have been happy with both machines. Toro had the longer warranty and Gravely had the bigger engine (not that I needed it but... ) So it came down to price, both machines were supported locally so no split there either. Probably an overkill for s small acreage but I have spent a lifetime learning the daily price you pay for buying rubbish machinery. So this is a commercial machine which should see me out the door. Unless of course there is a new piece of technology the one must just have to have. Thanks for all the help

Well that's good. Congratulations!
