Gravely HD52 or Ferris IS600z

I'm looking for a new mower. I will be mowing my personal lawn and occasionally my churchyard. Mine is around 1.5 acres, the church is about 2. I build houses for my main living and some landscaping. I do all of the landscaping on the houses I build and am a few others throughout the year. I don't advertise the landscaping and have never offered lawn care, but would like to have fairly capable equipment if I wanted to start.

Of these two, which is the better mower. The Ferris appears to have better components, but the Gravely is the more popular brand. Price is very close, just under $5000 for the Gravely, just over $5000 for the Ferris. Which has a better cut? Which will hold up better longer? Which is all around better?

I don't know the specifics, but I think the Ferris is the all around better mower.

Based on brand name or what? Seems Ferris is usually thought to be the better brand, but I don't know for sure. Of the two the Ferris has the larger pumps and the suspension. I wonder, though, if the suspension is just something else to wear out.

I just think the Ferris has more/better features. To me it almost seems as if you aren't comparing similar mowers, like a mower like the Gravely Pro-Turn would be closer to the Ferris, but I guess I'm going by looks, not price.

Ferris uses the better parts. Better trannies, fuel capacity, speed, motor, actual suspension, etc....
If you want the readers digest version, compared to learning about specs, we are giving you what you asked.

Other than going to, and asking in each particular manufacturer's section, we go by what specific models you are comparing. Engines and transmissions are commonly uesd across the board, as all Mfg's use the same supply. Build quality (frame, deck and creature comforts for the $) is what sets each brand and comparable model apart. There are specific Mfg areas to ask the why's and how come's when comparing a set mode A vs. model B, because that's their hangout.
