A lot more details...or even better... a picture.

Does it clamp on? screw on?

The filter is type that has a bulb that houses the filter cartridge inside all of which is held in place a threaded ring(which has a o-ring inside. I'm thinking I might need a new o-ring and a smaller set of hands Thanks for your reply

be sure and not to over tighten it, that could make it leak.

im the same way who ever made this fuel filter system was either crazy or had the hand size of a 3 year old, mine is leaking to and when you try to tighten it up the ring pops off, what a mess didnt pay 15 grand for problems like this, i think i might need a new filter housing cant find one anywhere

Call Grasshopper customer service.
Being a small company they tend to treat customers seriously.
If you are having problems so must a lot of others and there might be an upgrade or fitting proceedure that is not apparent.
