Hey Guys
I've got a Murray mower and did a lot of maintenance to it over 23 years, and runs good. I was mowing the lawn the other day, It's 100 degrees and lawn was high enough to put deck at number 6, highest, so not to put too much strain on mower. I was close to being finished, when it started smoking - blue smoke. Oil was at proper level. I'm wondering if i clean the muffler and air filter, maybe the carburetor, could that be the problem or would it be an internal engine problem, God forbid, a headgasket problem?? Thanks! David D.

She's an Intek. They love head gaskets.

Make sure you lap the head and block area where the gaskets sits. Don't just throw on a new gasket and over torque it.

Have you ever cleaned the cooling fins and block? I've "red" somewhere that's a good idea.

change the oil. May have fuel in it and be thin.
