got a fj180v 6.0 kawasaki motor

motor is currently on swisher log splitter, used to have a briggs motor, only way to keep running is to keep pumping primer bulb ? never been in the belley on wood splitter but it's vertical shaft with some sort of belt drive, how hard is it to change motor with a new one? i've heard that a lawn mower won't work cause the flywheel is too light? what size shaft is my kawasaki motor? straight taper shaft? ty ty ty for any help

Why not fix the problem? You need to clean and rebuild the carb, making sure that the float level is set properly before reinstalling.

If it runs ok as long as you continually prime the carb then you have a simple fuel supply problem.
Clogged fuel tank outlet, clogged fuel line, build up of water in the carb bowl or clogged jets in the carb.
A whole lot easier & cheaper than swapping the motor.
If you are set on a swap then go to Small Engine Suppliers or Repower and type in your exact engine numbers and their web sited will bring up all the information that you need.
Usually on this type of equipment they fit solid steel pulleys to make up for the flywheel effect so a mower engine will do the job just as long as the pulleys will fit it.
