I am seeking advice for a good push mower for 1 to 3 acres. I would prefer a model that is self propelled and a quieter engine. I have looked at the new Craftsman Quiet Technology mowers with the Briggs & Stratton Quiet Power Technology but the reviews are mixed. Price is not an issue so I would appreciate any suggestions

If price isn't an issue why don't you look into a riding lawn mower? 1-3 acres can be alot to push mow

I have considered a riding mower but I have less general knowledge of riding mowers than I do of push mowers. The reviews I researched on the riding mowers often seemed contradictory If you have any advice/suggestions for a riding mower please do so

1-3 acres? Wow!!!

Just get the cheapest Poulan rider for now, and mow with it, it will give you good service for a few years at least. You could pay for it by getting a part time job with the time that you would otherwise be pushmowing....

This is a good assess ment. For anything over an acre a rider is going to save you hours.

To the OP: You didn't mention whether you are planning on bagging or not. This could be a significant factor in what you are going to get. Also, what is the terrain - larger wheels work better for rough terrain, in general.

Our Lowe's has TROY BILT TB30R for $999.00. That would do. Small, good reviews.
