was browsing different sites for a problem I had
Pull cord was very hard to pull
Thought for sure it was blade brake or engine was toast
Read a thread that addressed the same issue
But wait, the mower has self propelled front wheels,check the drive belt for interference with crank shaft.
Bingo
Belt had jumped pulley
Fixed in 20 minutes,runs great
Not bad for retrieval from garbage and selling for $140.
