I am partial to the third style

The second seems too complicated and more things to go wrong.

I feel like walk behinds are way to complicated.

Have you ever used that style of drive??

Yes on a scag 36 advantage. For about 7 seasons took some getting used to but once you do its like second nature

I also demo'd the second type didn't really like it but I only used it for about 5 minutes and I'm sure once you get used to it you'd grow to love it.

I used it on my Billy Goat, but it was a little different because there was no "power steering" so you had to muscle the mower around to turn it (so there was one less grip on the handles).

I used the belt drive for a couple of seasons I found it to be more of a PITA than what it was worth. He would be better off with either the Exmark 30" or the Toro-Master 30" it would be cheaper and new and the difference in productivity be tween the 36" and the 30" is near nothing. JMO

Don't kid yourself you muscle the belt drive around also.

No the 36 I used was ztr with hydros. I've never used a belt drive walk behind I would rather not...I've used the belt drive on my tractor and its hard enough.

Pay a little more for it and get a Hustler Trimstar. This thing is easy to drive, makes a Great cut, and is like riding a bike pretty much. Hands don't wear out like a lot of the mowers I've seen and used.
