The rear weights on my 614 are missing. The previous owner doesn't have them. It's easy to bring the rear end up if I'm not careful on the sticks. Does the traction kit amplify that effect at all?

Another question...if I mow mostly flat ground, is there any reason to have the traction kit hooked up? I thought about just unpinning it from the deck but leaving it otherwise installed.

I'm going to have a couple 30lb weights cut from 1" steel plate and installing them on the back end.

The weight kit makes a very noticeable difference in keeping the rear of the machine from coming up, usually the only time you don't have the weight kit is if you're running a steel hopper collection system. The whole idea of the weight kit is to lighten up the deck making the unit more responsive with less slippage on the drive wheels turning as well as moving in a straight line or sidehill.
