How do you get rid of clover without killing your grass? I have tons of clover that the wild bunnies love but it makes my lawn look like it's just weeds. I don't want to damage the grass so what can I use?

Perhaps you could dig it up and then re seed with just grass? That is the only logical thing I can think of that won't kill the lawn.

That would be a lot of digging but I'll try just about anything so my grass doesn't get wasted. I know the wild critters love it but I hate it.

If you are digging it up ... just as well leave the dirt, (that you will have to replace), use something like a spot applied weed and grass killer. then replant... same results with lots less work... KennyV

Look for a spray with dicamba in it. Trimec is available at tractor supply and also other farm type stores. I use one called Triplet I get at my local farm chemical supplier (kova) it has dicamba in it also. I haven't paid much attention to the sprays available in the home stores but if you just use 2,4,d alone it won't really control the clover. It is best to spray in the fall for clover and it will also control dandelions nicely as well and I won't touch your grass unless it is a certain kind of grass(I don't remember what kind) or the grass is very stressed. Read the label.

I use Triplet as well. It takes care of the clover!

We had a lot of clover in one section of our yard but when I was outside earlier it looked like the sun and no rain situation has killed a lot of it. Maybe that's what you need to do ... have a drought!

I once read that clover kind of fixes nitrogen to your lawn. This therefore means there is a possibility it could be a blessing in disguise. The good thing is that it has small fibrous roots hence some sort of ease when plucking.

I use Weed-B-Gone (2,4D), don't try to completely eradicate the clover, just slow it down! I, personally prefer to have some clover, just don't want it to take over. ~~ grnspot110
