I bought a new battery this spring. I got the mower out this evening to mow and one of the tires was low. So I shut it off, aired the tire up and put some gas in it, it wouldn't even turn over. Jumped it off, mowed then checked the generator output before putting it up. It showed only 12 volts running, I know an alternator in an auto should be 14 volts. So is the generator on its way out. The mower is only 13 years old, got it in spring of 2000.
Thanks for any assistance offered,

Guys I don't have a manual, that is why I'm asking.
Thank you, though.

I looked over the manual and now have an idea of where to start. I will check the battery first, it may be too small. I got it at the big blue box store and got the only one they had. I don't think it's a 400 cca battery, as it has to be per the manual. I really appreciate the help, the manual will really help keep the old girl running. Thank you very much, I can pretty much do any repair on an automobile but the lawn and garden equipment just blows me away.
Thanks again,
