Early this month I had replied to another post but went to this new post. So I was wondering why they didn't make it better for the gauge wheel adjustments on a dick no one seemed to rely so just went with my own thoughts and got this together on my tractor and they seem to be what I wanted to make it easy to adjust the gauge wheels as needed with deck height. Mounting wasn't bad just used the bolts holes in the deck brackets for mounting but did modify a wheel bolts and nuts. Adding photos so you get what I did to get this done. Spent $15.00 for parts on eBay.

Heres an update to this conversion. Found that the deck brackets are a bit different from side to side on my Craftsman 42in deck so had to drill one new hole to correct a difference in height from left to right mounting height. Also I did use the tractor and had no issue with the adjuster handles getting caught and anything like under bushes or low branches on pine trees. I am pleased with this as now if I change the deck height all I do is adjust the wheels with the height levers on solid ground.

They are called anti-scalp wheels on the deck of a riding mower. They are not intended to ever touch the ground unless you are on uneven ground. Welding some brackets from a push mower with some deck wheels on it is one way of doing it.

Thats what I was going to use but could not find any used decks but then found the adjustment kit on Ebay for $15.00 so did that instead. I do adjust mine to be off the ground on concrete floor around 1/2in. at whatever setting I have the deck set at. My lawn is surly not very level but at least the deck is set up as it should be and my cut is fairly level.
