Gas cap vibrating off?

I recently purchased a 34” Timecutter https://www.toro.com/en/homeowner/riding-mowers/timecutter-75734 . It does a great job mowing. I’ve had lawn tractors here for 15 years and always followed the same mowing pattern. With the ZTR I’m able to efficiently go different directions.
My only issue is the gas cap. Twice now, it has come off while I was mowing. I assume that it is vibrating itself off. Has this happened to anyone else?

You cut the grass the same way, for 15 years?

You know you are to cut a different direction on every mow right? If not you will rut out the turf something terrible. Must not be a manicured yard like mine.

Since you have a cap issue, I would dump the tank out and clean it like a new one. Get a new cap and mow some grass.

It turns out I wasn’t tightening the cap till it clicked

My neighbor had same issue on his Timecutter. Seems he wasn't tightening till it clicked either.. I noticed him mowing by & his gas cap hanging from the tether cord. I stopped him & we got that sorted.

You can't over-tighten that cap..
