I gave up on the gaming back in the early days of the Pac Man floor consoles and Wizards of Wor on a Tandy machine.

Yep, I'm dating myself. That stuff never really interested me because I was always taking things apart and learning how things worked in the world around me. Funny thing was, I put most everything back together and it actually worked. That was a more satisfying sense of accomplishment than just competing for the highest score on some game that just took my quarters or others that reset every time the switch was turned off.

A lot of games on the market now, are just as boring as games like that back in the day. If I hadn't found RDR2 last year, I'd probably have found something else to do.

But I'm glad I found it. It's been many MANY hours of fun and entertainment. It's like a good movie. As good as Lonesome Dove. Only you control how it's played out. On my 8th playthrough now, and still haven't played it the same way twice.

In a way, it's almost not like a video game. The way you control what happens, how it happens and the consequences. 99% of the games on the market are what I call "one way streets." Or linear. You have a certain path you have to follow. One certain objective. One story line. Those that let you off the beaten path, don't have much to do. So you get bored quickly and get back to that path. RDR2, has 100 fun things to do off the beaten path. And you control it all.

The main story. Side stories. Gang members stories and back grounds. Missions, challenges, side quests, collectables, hunting, fishing, poker, black jack, domino's, rescuing people, defending yourself or attacking others.
