fuel pump problem?

I have a john deere gx345 that is not does not seem to be drawing fuel into the fuel filter. I just replaced the fuel pump. What else could be the problem?

Make there are no cracks in the fuel line between the tank and the fuel pump. If the fuel line comes out of the top of the fuel tank, there is a chance that the suction tube has come loose or broken inside the fuel tank.
