The B&S engine on my Toro mower keeps dying after a couple seconds so I was going to clean out the carb and install a fuel filter. Which type should I use? The large red or white flat disc looking one, like the B&S part, or the clear cylinder shaped with one pointed end types? Or are they all about the same? Amazon has tons of listings for both types (some with spring clamps).

White pancake design for engines without a fuel pulse pump. Red pancake design is for gravity feed fuel systems without a fuel pulse pump.

The long clear plastic design is a favorite with many people so they can monitor if they have trash being trapped by the filter like it should.

Taryl Fixes all on You Tube explains the differences.

The fuel filter should be changed every season regardless.

i use the flat white one on all gravity feed engines with 0 issues.
Did the same on the last filter order. The white 75 micron jobs for tight spaces (push mowers). Run all day on gravity fed engines.

Prefer the Rotary 10352 for all others.
