Fuel delivery problem

I have a Yardman push mower with a 6.5hp Briggs and Stratton engine. It starts then quits, if you keep pushing the primer bulb while it is running it will stay running. I have cleaned and rebuilt the carb. and installed a new primer bulb and air filter. Still wont keep running. Could it be the fuel line or the air breather hose? I've run out of ideas so any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Going from experience on hand held whackers...is there a little gas filter on the end of the gas pickup line in the gas tank? plugged?

That Briggs engine should have a fine screen inside the tank in the pick up tube, But you said you cleaned the carburetor so that must be OK. That carburetor also has a fuel pump built into the side of it, you did replace that right? You might just want to go over your carb rebuild again because it sounds like you might have missed something. It can happen to anybody, I know it dose to me.

Thank you, I will drain the tank and check that out and I will double check my rebuild.

I will check that, thank you for the advice.

Did you check your float level when you rebuilt the carb. If it is not set level or what I like, a little low or rich, it will cause your problem.
