That will work.
However like to smack the top of the nut with a cold chisel and put a little V deformation across the top.
That is generally enough to stop it backing off .
Good idea. I will give that a shot when the parts arrive. Thanks

Update: Still waiting on the nut for the starter shaft. Manufacturer delay but should arrive later next week. I may go to a local fastener place and see if they can match up something to get me going. I don't think there is anything special about the part that I can't use another matching part. Any opinions?
