My Stihl weedeater runs fine but won’t shut off.
I have checked continuity from the yellow wire grounded to the motor to the switch and it is good.
I have continuity on the black wire that plugs into the coil and goes to the kill switch, it good as well.
When I push the kill switch down I get continuity between the yellow(ground) wire and the black ignition wire. So the kill circuit is good.
What else should I look for. Maybe the connection coming off of the coil is bad????
I just don’t know.
Any suggestions
To work the kill wire has to ground the coil to the METAL part of the engine
So you need to test the switch for continuity to ground
While it is not common, the terminal can fall off the coil, the coil wire can break or get worn through by rubbing on the flywheel or get cut by the cover bcause it was routed wrong
