Recently got an older Stihl FS-40C trimmer from the in-laws. It hasnt been cranked for a few years, but cleaned the carb and got it running in pretty good shape.

My question; is there a throttle cable adjustment? The end of the throttle cable where it attaches to the carb has about a 1/4" slack before the throttle engages when the trigger is pulled? The cable on this one runs into the carb from the bottom side.

any suggestions appreciated.

Some Stihl trimmers have an adjustment at the half circle cam, that some trimmer throttle cables ride on. If not this design, than maybe where the cable mounts there is an adjustment. Otherwise, no adjustment.

This appears to be the one with throttle lever mounted in the engine shroud (newer version of the FS40) no adjustment found in the old service manual and if I remember correct there is no adjust in the newer housing either.

Thanks all

this one has the throttle mounted in the top engine shroud; no half cam wheel. I see a bolt in the trigger housing, but took that off earlier and didnt see a way to adjust from there.
