if you are not going to reuse the old drain just cut the tube off the drain. Loosen the lock ring screw the drain out and install the new drain hose. I never have to remove the engine or loosen it.

There is a plastic fitting that is screwed into the lblock which has 2 flat sides on it that needs to be removed to install a new rubber drain hose. I’m trying to figure out the right tool to remove that piece with very limited space. Thks

This is the one I use to remove an install these oil drains as a normal crowfoot wrench will not work in the limited space.
